I have a friend who is doing Aleks assessments. He's doing the Intro to Stats and cannot force a new assessment.
Can someone give me some instructions on doing this? The only thing he can do is "request a new knowledge check". He wants to do a new initial assessment.
Thanks guys,
Bruce

Hey! Bruce Thompson, I have been looking for you!! banghead *angry look*.
I read through your reviews and "finishing" your degree... that was what got me started on my journey.
Heck, this year I am done! You are one of the many people here who actually had inspiring stories.
I just wanted to say - Thanks for writing that. I am totally inspired to get on with my Masters in 2018
That's because I won a spot on the Cisco CyberSecurity and have to work hard at it at the end of the year.
To answer your question, I think that "request a new knowledge check" is done at the Master account.
The student account is where your friend needs to logon and it should have a secondary assessment.
The student actually should work a few pieces of the pie first before doing the assessment again, but should work.

new initial assessment requires him to change classes. Then, leave the new class and change back to the one he wants a new initial assessment in.

hey sorry to hop on this thread as well. I just started ALEKs and just completed the initial "knowledge check" for beginners algebra took 2hrs 30 mins. I scored a 70% is that the assetment test? or is that something else. I dont see a option on my masters account to push an assetment.
If the "knowledge check" is the assement.. can I go to my master account and pick a new course for the student account? Or do I have to wait for ACE to confirm the % before starting the next course?
Thanks for the help.

Agreed. I too would like to know how you can force a re-test. Take the initial, study some and then try again? How often can we do this?
Thanks

You can force a new assessment as often as you'd like. You could take one, come in under 70% and immediately force a new one. However, as you said, it would improve your chances to study some (the assessment will tell you where your knowledge was lacking) before retaking the assessment again.
And once you hit the 70% you will want to make sure that ALEKS has approved your ACE request before moving on to a different subject. When you leave the one you're in it wipes it out completely - so again, make sure it has been added to your ACE before moving to the next math subject. They had always been quick to approve in the past.
