Ed4Credit - Acclaim - Credly Problem

Okay, soooooo....

I took English Composition II  at Ed4Credit.  As we all know, Ed4Credit no longer exists, but it was purchased by Pearson.  No problem.  When I added them to my ACE Transcript, Pearson confirmed that I took the course with Ed4Credit, and ACE added the class to my transcript.

Lo and behold...I'm trying to get these stupid new badges on Acclaim, and guess what?  No English Composition II course.

I think I may have just lost this class...I never transferred it to TESU...it never crossed my mind that I would actually LOSE credit...I thought that that is what an ACE Transcript was for.

I'm with you - I took Accounting II through them.  It was on my ACE transcript, now I need to get it on Acclaim.  I have not tried contacting Pearson yet though, who knows, they may be easy to work with. We shall see. I just emailed Pearson...

That definitely sucks! Of course, with the new TESU policy, it's going to be in your best interests now to just take the English Comp TECEP or to take the class from TEL Learning. Still sucks that you've lost credit, though.

So I've been on the phone for over an hour with with people from "Over Seas"...who have no idea what TF I'm talking about.

At first I called Pearson @ 800-624-0023 and spent 40 minutes with one person.  I asked for a Supervisor...they told me to call Pearson VUE @ 888-278-6138  where I spent another 25 minutes talking with a clueless person, who then told me to call "Certiport Support" at 801-323-5800...

At this point, I'm about to call ACE and be like what the #@$& is up man? LOL!

This is ridiculous.

Edit: So I called ACE @ 202-939-9300 and it goes straight to voicemail, hahaha! It's only 1:12pm EST.

Luckily, I do have the emails of a couple ACE points of contacts.  Maybe they can help?  I'm about to see.

I emailed Pearson (Lumerit?) and they responded that I needed to contact Ed4Career. Um, nope. Wrong info. I emailed back that Pearson purchased Ed4Credit a couple of years ago.

We shall see what happens. I don't have a good feeling about it though.

So I called that 801-323-5800 for "Certiport Support", and I got some place called "GMetrix" HAHAHAHA, this situation is so bad.  It appears that they are another outfit owned by Pearson, that also has no idea what is going on.  The plus side, at least this agent was in the U.S. and as a result, it took WAY LESS time to learn that they have no idea what I was talking about.

They DID give me the number to "The Real" Certiport Support @ 801-847-3100...well, I guess it's real.  We shall see.

I also called ACE back and was on hold for 25 minutes....it appears they are getting slammed.  

I think I will follow up with Ed4Career.  At this point, why not? LOL

Edit: Dang it!  Of course they close at 4:30pm EST....guess I'll try back tomorrow.  Ed4Career's number is (727) 824-7800 and they open at 8:30am.

I reached out to A.C.E. via my old points of contact, and have now received a wonderful and satisfactory solution. I should have known that they would have something in place. They are truly a wonderful group of people.

Toasty, did you also ask the ACE contact about other credits? How about the ones from say, Kaplan PLA, Institutes, NFA, Shmoop, and whatever else that no longer is ACE recommended for credit, such as AlignDegree, JumpCourse, and more?

No, I did not, as I did not take courses from those providers.  However, I would advise the public to please reach out to credit@acenet.edu, and please nicely and succinctly tell them your issue.  I hesitate to give out personal work emails en masse, but I do know for a fact that the Resource Team at the credit@acenet.edu address has been cc'd to my solution, and they should be aware of the general answer *as of today*.   I have attached a copy of the email I sent to my contacts, as well as the response from the wonderful person who is helping with my issue.  I hope a similar solution will work for all providers outside of Ed4Credit.

I hope everyone is well!  I am reaching out because I ran into a problem trying to transfer college credit from my old ACE Transcript, to the new Acclaim system.

I had taken College Composition II through the vendor known as Ed4Credit.  The vendor is no longer in business, and was subsequently purchased by Pearson, a major provider of education services.

Under the old CREDIT system used by A.C.E. I was still able to receive credit for the course because Pearson verified that I had taken it through the retired Ed4Credit platform.

Under the new Acclaim system however, there are no available Badges for the College Composition II course, and therefore no way for me to "prove" that I took the course via transcript.

This is important because I did not send the latest updated CREDIT transcript to my school, so in effect, I have "lost" credit.
I am reaching out to you for help because it seems like the simple solution would be for me to contact Pearson, and I did.  I called 4 different phones numbers, and spent an hour on the phone yesterday, and no Pearson department seems to be aware of the new Acclaim-Credly system.

So, I figured I'd reach out to A.C.E. to see if perhaps you might have a point of contact within Pearson that I could reach out to, that might know about your migration from CREDIT to Acclaim, and that could hopefully help in this situation.

Hi XXXXXX!  It’s great to meet you, and I certainly can help!  I’m cc’ing our resource center folks here as well because they also passed your question along to me.  The good news is that Ed4Credit intends to let ACE issue badges on their behalf despite no longer participating in the program, so we will be able to make sure you don’t lose your credits.  The concern is timing.  Are you up against a looming deadline to get this transcript to someone?  If so, I’ll see what I can do to move faster, but if not then we can use the process we’ll be using for everyone with credentials in the old system.  You’ll get a quick survey from ACE asking if you would like to move your credentials over to Acclaim.  When you say yes, we’ll use that to figure out which badges we need to issue to you as ACE to join the ones you get from Study.com or StraighterLine or other providers who are already on Acclaim.
 
So let me know what your time constraints are, and we’ll figure out the best way to make this work!

Two days ago, Thomas Edison State University revised their transfer credit policy, and everyone that is currently a student needs to get all of their transfer credit in before March 1st 2021 in order to be grandfathered into the old policy.

Oh good!  That will give us plenty of time to get things in order for you.  So keep an eye out for that survey in the next couple of days, but I’ll also have a note here for myself to make sure that we have you on the list for Ed4Credit badges when we create those.  We’re also working pretty closely with TESU on this transition, so if we’re worried about anything we can always reach out to them directly.  We’ll probably start issuing badges shortly after the start of the new year, so until then have a great holidays, and don’t hesitate to reach out if any other concerns come up!

I’m quite certain there are good old fashioned American born people who are clueless.

Saying “Over seas” is a bit unnessary. Their nationality is not important; their competence at that employer is the issue.
