BGSU Thank you for the update! Its 90 or more dollars for a Passport and can take up to six weeks to get one so it might be worth it to plan to have it ready before the migration to the new system kicks in. We now know the procedure which will be helpful in getting in and out quickly. Any changes to the exam content? or just the process for signing up and taking the test?
Don't forget that gaining college credit by taking exams is one of the reason's we're here. That's mainly possible through the flashcards made available by the owner of this forum : InstantCert Plus of course your hard work in learning and reviewing

I will add one small detail that makes things even more difficult. According to many military websites, photocopying military id cards violates federal law. Because of this, I have started using my passport as my second identification. The two id requirement is really pretty silly. If I am able to forge a single id, what is to keep me from forging two?

I agree. And how hard is it to create your own student ID at Wutsamatta University?

Hmm. From a quick search it looks like the source is probably this:
DoD Instruction 1000.13 Wrote:6.1.7. Any person willfully altering, damaging, lending, counterfeiting, or using these cards in any unauthorized manner is subject to fine or imprisonment or both, as prescribed by Sections 499, 506, 509, 701, or 1001 of 18 U.S.C. (reference (l)).1 Section 701 of 18 U.S.C., of reference (l), prohibits photographing or otherwise reproducing or possessing Uniformed Services ID cards in an unauthorized manner, under penalty of fine or imprisonment or both. Unauthorized or fraudulent use of the DD Form 2, DD Form 1173, or the DD Form 1173-1 would exist, if a bearer uses the card in a manner that would enable the bearer to obtain benefits and privileges to which he or she is not entitled. Photocopying of the DD Forms 2, DD Form 1173, or DD Form 1173-1 to facilitate medical care processing, check cashing, or administering other military-related benefits to eligible beneficiaries are examples of authorized photocopying.

I'm not sure who this will apply to, but I just received a reply back from Collegeboard and they said that the student form listed on their website ( http://media.collegeboard.com/digitalSer...D_Form.pdf) can be used as a primary form of ID and the state-issued ID can be the secondary form of ID. I guess this would only apply to homeschoolers who know someone who can notarize the form for them, but it might be an option for some.
Here's what the email said.....

We hope this information is helpful. If you write to us again, please include all previous messages.

The Student ID form is intended for the younger testing candidates (I know the CLEP Candidate Bulletin says homeschoolers but I also suggest it for any <18-year-olds). Either way, the form is only good for one year, it is only valid if on school stationery, it must have a recognizable photo applied to the form with a school or notary seal overlapping the photo. The form is then signed by the student when at the test center.
Also a note to those who might think now would be a good time to get a passport or passport card. I believe passport services is one of the areas that has been affected by the government shutdown. I would suggest a state ID card over these options if you need something quicker (plus cheaper). Though it sounds like you would need to check with your state's DMV to see if you are able to have both a driver's license and state ID.
Finally, no photocopies of anything are ever considered acceptable!
