This whole program is such B.S. I can't believe we're still debating it.

It may or may not be "BS". But people are just reaching for anything at this point, lol. Next it's going to be "See, the seal is not in the typical place it would be on an American diploma... scam! SCAM!"
This is getting funny :-)

I find its sad that many of us who are willing to get degrees but dont have available means have to go through many obstacles and must find a way to manage limited resources to meet their goals

If anything that's cheap is bad then what are you doing here, presumably getting credits from SL, Sophia, SDC, etc.? They're cheap so you should clearly just go to a "real" university and spend a few tens of thousands getting your bachelor's degree.

from a more utility angle, degree or diploma or neither, any employer in NA will most likely google said university if on a CV and find groupon and feel that the CV is bogus.

SPAIN: TÍTULO PROPIO
Título propio from Spain (any subject field) Not recognized by Ministry of Education Generally used for professional advancement POSSIBLE EVALUATION ISSUES: • program of study completed at recognized institution • non-recognition by Ministry of Education CANADA • If awarding institution is public - comparable to a university diploma (but not a degree) • If awarding institution is private – no recognition USA NACES Members https://www.naces.org/members IERF https://www.ierf.org/ • No recognition; not recognized by Ministry of Education of Spain SpanTran https://www.spantran.com/ • No recognition because these programs are not recognized by Ministry of Education of Spain and because do not grant admission to doctoral programs • However, we recommend that U.S. institutions review content for possible transfer credit at their discretion if this program of study is acceptable In brief, I purchased the Groupon ENEB MBA + Masters and a second Masters to extend my knowledge or gain extra knowledge in areas that interest me. I've written about this in post #143, #153 and #164. Anyways, I am not using this on my CV/Resume, but as a learning medium. Think of it as CEU. Another option is instead of thinking of this as a professional CEU (Continuing Education Unit), I think of them similar to non credit Executive Ed. Examples are the inexpensive "pay what you can" options that were provided by several universities, these are similar pricing but provide much more study. For those in Canada, the ENEB may be evaluated as a Graduate Diploma. I am not interested in getting this evaluated, but somewhat intrigued if it will. For those in USA, the ENEB may not be evaluated as graduate credit. If that is not what you're looking for, it's got a pretty good curriculum/system. And for those looking for cheap credits and/or Masters Diploma from Spain, you should get the ones directly from the University instead. I have found a few that are roughly $999-$1799 but you get it directly from the University vs a partnership from a third party provider. I am not here to debate if the ENEB program is great or a scam, it suits my learning needs and quest to gain more skills in the Business fields. Many... others may agree or disagree with me that the cheap/free "pay what you can" executive education programs were good from UOA and FIU, etc. I think if it caters to your learning habit and needs, or if it helps you gain more skills in the business medium you're looking for, go for it if the cost is right. You are the one who decides what is for you and what isn't... the main thing you want is that recognition from the Ministry of Education in that country. From my experience and research, it won't really matter where/which country you get your education, it can be evaluated to almost equivalency to US. For example, if someone has a recognized 3 year BBA and a 2 year MBA from another country, it could be evaluated to a US BBA + 1 year post grad. Or, it would be evaluated as a 3 year BBA + 2 year post grad. For international students that have credits already, it maybe cheaper finishing locally. If you want a cheap Spanish Masters and can speak the language, go for the 'Oficial' as those can be had for under $5000 directly at the university.

About the critic to to the price...you know that in some places in the world degree level studies are free, no?
I cannot wait that you discover that in Finland, Sweden or Germany education is for free... and really good!! So please think that each country has different priorities regarding education. In this case, Spain, is cheaper, way cheaper than US. But think that salaries are lower, cost high and study credits are difficult to get if possible at all. So imagine yourself with 18 years old trying to pay 3k to inscribe yourself in the university for the first year after one or two months of finishing high school with no chances to get a work ( work market right now is not good for young, inexperienced people). In the case of somebody with undergrad studies nearly not arriving to meet month end and wanting to promote in a enterprise to a better position. Even if the study is not official it shows you learned something and this helps for promoting. Some enterprises don´t care if the title is official or not, they care about if you can do the work or not (specially small enterprises). Please, critic the content, utility or something different to: "if cheap cannot be good". Or if you want to critic the price, again, be original about it. Because is like reading the same post again and again. in short: just saying that many people in the world don´t have (and others don´t want to spend) 50k to 100k to go to university even if it is news for your... is a more common situation that what you think. |
