Hi all,
Just looking for a fallback if CLEP algebra doesn't go as planned. Will DSST Algebra fulfill the Precalculus requirement for an Excelsior Business degree? Thanks so much!

No, it will not. You need to take a test or course that is labeled precalculus or higher such as calculus. Beginning algebra, college math, intermediate algebra, and college algebra are below precalculus.

I believe precalc and algebra are considered equivalent at Excelsior.

That's stupid. Why would they ask for precalculus or higher when they could just say college algebra or higher? Precalculus and college algebra aren't the same thing. Oh well...if that's the nonsensical way they do things. Does anyone know how the DSST is coded? Their precalculus algebra Uexcel is MATX-116.
I think I'm right (somewhat). On their exam document, it is noted that the DSST for Fundamentals of College Algebra does not fulfill the college algebra core requirement in the business programs. It's denoted with a 5.

The CLEP for College Algebra might fulfill the requirement, but the DSST does not.
