Does the English Subject GRE negate the Lit. CLEPs?
#1
Note: I'm applied to Charter Oak State College, if that information might help your answer(s)
Two questions:

1) Does the Literature in English GRE cancel out the American and English Lit. CLEPs? At COSC, I do know that in the English degree concentration, it does; however, I'm pursuing a liberal arts degree, and was wondering if anyone knows if all those tests could find a way to count towards the degree.

2)As I've already taken 4 Lit tests (GRE subject test, American and English Lit CLEPs, and the Analyzing and Interpreting Lit CLEP), would the English Comp. CLEP not count towards the degree if I took it (content too similar, too much English credits, etc.)?

Additional 3rd Q: Would the Technical Writing DANTES count, or would any of the above tests cancel it out?

I don't know about Charter Oak, but I called an advisor at Excelsior about this yesterday. The Lit GRE will duplicate 12 credits I already have
Analy. & Int Lit CLEP (6), Modern Age British (3), and Intro to Lit (3). Except for the CLEP these were credits I transferred in from college 25 years ago.

I am in a conundrum because I think I can do well on the Lit GRE but the MOST I can get are 18 credits (that's if I'm in the 80th percentile)! If I struggle and torture myself I can get many more credits for the Psych. GRE.

Oh well, check with CO. Any Lit related credit will probably duplicated.
