Does Charter Oak grant 3rd degrees?

Has this issue about "Does Charter Oak grant 3rd degrees?" been resolved?

The reason I'm asking is because I'm taking courses at Study.com toward an English degree to humor my parents, as they're not youngsters anymore, so they wanted me to earn a degree, as soon as possible, should something happen to either or both of them. They're paying my online studies and can't afford expensive colleges. I have about 80 credits, which I started taking just after reading on TESU's website that a person should first start taking Study.com courses, then apply to TESU when most or all the necessary courses have been completed (https://www.tesu.edu/studycom/how-to-get-started), followed by transferring in the credits. My plan was, until I saw this thread on the internet, to complete my English degree for my parents' sake as well as that I'm teaching English extra classes a few hours per week to children that battle with it, to have a small income while studying for my degree, and then earn a Computer Science degree, which I'm also good at, since I would only need 24 additional credits to earn a 2nd bachelors degree. If I am forced to look for a full-time job after these 2 bachelor degrees, then at least I have a professional qualification.

However, my end goal is a bachelors degree in chemistry or physics from COSC, which will be my 3rd bachelors degree and that will take very long, I presume, because I used to suck at mathematics, but I am working on becoming better at math because I'm not a complete idiot; only a terrible math foundation was laid in primary school which caused me to get poor marks. All is different now thanks to Khan and Math-U-See, although I had to lay a new foundation myself by going back to grade 3 and working my way up from there. (Still not quite there, but it's coming along quite well--high-school level now). So I need and obviously want these 3 bachelor degrees. How can I make this happen? What advice can you provide or maybe even a possible plan that might speed things up. Any advice is most welcome.

So it seems you are just doing the English degree to make your parents happy but you're not that interested in it? Wouldn't your parents be just as happy if you just focused on getting a CS degree?

Also, just wanted to point out that TESU will only take up to 90 credits from any one source. So if you already have 80 credits from study.com, you may want to consider other methods of getting credits soon.

If you post all the credits you currently have and where they're from, we could help you plan it out.

Alternatively, you could just get your associates in CS at the same time as your bachelor's in English. Or vice versa. Then you would still have degrees in both with the option of pursuing another bachelor's in one of the science fields.

I have to say that if you are truly interested in both English and CS, I think the two would make a great synergy as a double AOS. However, I wouldn't do it if it slows your entry into your career track.

If that is your end goal just start there. I don't see what the point of earning two additional degrees are if they don't relate to your goal.

Hmm, that's a good question. In my mind my assumption was that you can only transfer 90 total, regardless of how many degrees, but that was only an assumption and I have nothing to back it up.

Also, did the OP specify that all of his credits were SDC?

This is what I would recommend the OP to do instead of having 3 degrees, you can have two and hit all three areas with one fee at TESU! Get a BA Comp Sci/English degree at TESU, at the same time, get the BALS with a NSM concentration, you can place the concentration with a majority of Chemistry & Physics courses. You get two degrees at the same time, you pay 1 fee for graduation/residency waiver and pay just 1 capstone for both degrees.

It's a secret, not many people know it. If you review the template I have for "My Degree Plan!.xlsx" file, it has a sentence.
The total you can move over is actually not 90 credits, but 99 from the previous degree. To be on the safe side, I usually just tell people that the most of the time, 90 credits from the first degree can be moved to the second degree - depending on what degree you're going for.

Final Note: The COSC and the TESU concentrations are just that, they're concentrations, not majors at either school as the Big 3 nor EC/WGU offers majors in Chemistry or Physics.

Also, did the OP specify that all of his credits were SDC?

Hmmmm, well interestingly, they awarded me over 90 credits from my military training, though only about 70 or so are applicable towards my degree.

I'm thinking the limit may only be 90 credits per source, per degree. I don't have confirmation on that either but that's my theory.

They didn't specify that they only had SDC courses but I thought I'd mention it just in case so they can plan accordingly and don't waste any credits that go over the limit.
