Jonathan Whatley made a comment about Faulkner University having an 18-month PhD in Health Sciences. I went to their website and saw that they also have a 14-month DHSc in Health Sciences. This is the fastest RA, non-clinical doctorate that I've seen. Hypothetically, one can complete a doctorate at Oklahoma State University in 12 months, but that is dependent upon how many transfer credits are accepted from one's master's degree and how many credits one enrolls in each semester. Okstate is on a traditional semester system whereas Faulkner has 5-week courses that are taken one at a time, so the program is structured to be completed in 14 months.

According to their website, the DHSc tuition is currently 30,000 plus fees.

Not exactly cheap, but a fast, RA doctorate degree.

The PhD in HSc is 45 hours vs 36 for the DHSc 

The PhD currently is at 38,000 plus fees.

I'd pay the extra $8000 and do the PhD. A DHSc is fine, but the PhD just still carries more weight.
