Discerning a Path Toward a Baccalaureate Degree
#11
(02-19-2019, 12:26 PM)DeanLewis Wrote: Thanks for that info davewill. I actually applied to Excelsior late last year, but they wouldn't accept my grad credit for an undergraduate degree.

TESU called today, and I was transferred between undergraduate admissions and graduate admissions, and no one had a clear answer except for saying that only credits up to the 400 level can be applied to a baccalaureate degree. When I brought up their "Enrollment in a First Baccalaureate Degree After Earning a Graduate Degree"  policy, no one seemed to be aware that it existed or what it meant.

Alas, while this is all a bit discouraging I have added 5 credits to my list today with another SL class and the 2 credit "Insurance Ethics" class recommended in the first response, bringing my total to 72 undergraduate hours (2 ul). Perhaps I can test through the remainder program at TESU without too much effort.

That's why it makes the most sense to simply apply and send in all the transcripts. Getting straight answers without that is almost impossible.

Since you're going for a Doctorate in Chiropractic Degree and you have several Biology courses under your belt, you may want to go for an ASNSM Biology degree en route to a Bachelors degree and you may want to go for the BALS with a NSM concentration if you are taking more sciences (or no concentration if you're not taking any more sciences).

Thanks for the replies everyone :-) My science courses have been LL, so I'm not very interested in pursuing more, specifically for the UL requirement. I intend to submit everything and see what they come up with. I'm curious to what counts as liberal arts credits for AOS (no concentration). Does any combination of coursework seem to apply to long as it meets the UL/LL thresholds?

As an update, even without the grad work, I have now completed:

Undergraduate Total: 84

There are several concentrations, you can go for one of these or the "no concentration". It just requires 15 UL in any liberal arts subject combined. If you are looking for a concentration, it requires 18 credits in the concentration, 15 UL total in the degree.

See link here: https://www.tesu.edu/heavin/ba/liberal-studies
Students select an 18-credit concentration from the list below and complete an additional 12 credits of Liberal Studies courses.

Communications
Computer Science
Criminal Justice
General Management
Healthcare Management
Health and Wellness
Human Resources Management
Humanities
Labor Studies
Natural Sciences/Mathematics
Psychology
Social Sciences
