Once I'm officially done with school I'd like to do the same thing, maybe attend a few CC or Uni courses on the employer's dime and get in on some other free lectures. I miss the classroom experience as well, attended courses in person from 2002 - 2006.
I m edumakated thanx to distunce lerning.

Linda, that is a very touching story! Thank you so much for sharing it and the obituary... Mark sounds like he was a great friend to many.

I know I'm late on this post, although I agree with you. Alot of people asks themselves "what if". I'm 20 years old, although I am still young I still wished I had the full experience as my friends who went to state schools. When I was 18 and graduated high school in 2008, my friends went to schools out of state or well known state schools. I went to a community college and fell left out. I made new friends and a wonderful girlfriend that I am still with now , but still didn't have that "experience" because I was at a community college. Such as living in a dorm or watching the football games etc etc. I dropped out of community college as soon as I turned 20, and started taking online classes from different schools so I can transfer my credits to Excelsior. I know I made the right move because, my friends have to pay debt for their degrees and probably won't enter a grad program until their debt is paid off. Once I'm done with Excelsior, I want to enter FIU's grad program and take on campus classes. I shall be around 22. If I do get accepted into Florida International University, that'd be great! I'll already have completed my bachelors and to have my master degree will be a major success! I will still be able to watch football games in person and attend classes as any undergraduate would have. As I see it, it's never to late to have that full experience of college. Like everyone said, just go to grad school!
