MD_AJIBULU Wrote:So I received the following response from the TESU Bursar about the residency waiver:

If you were to request the ASBA degree and then request the BSBA degree a few months later you would need to pay another Residency Waiver Fee for the BSBA. If you are requesting both at the same time you would only pay one fee.

Meanwhile they responded to me that it was good for a year and even gave me the date it expires. It's like a random policy generator with TESU. Never know what you're going to get.

Really? That's (insert expletives)... I know that I read that there is a "duration" but I wasn't able to find the post to ask the OP.

So potentially, to get a second degree one would have to pay an additional $1800, plus the $1422 for another capstone (assuming the program of study) and the graduation fee? For $3500+ dollars you can be halfway through a six month session at WGU in a Master's program.

This is exactly what it should be, good for 1 year no matter what/which degrees you want to pursue.

The person who replied to previous poster may have had made a mistake. It is only one residency fee for $1800.
The capstone is the only charge, along with the graduation fee of course. That's how it should be done...

ME:
I would like to know about residency waivers. I am a study.com member and was advised that the residency waiver would be discounted.
If so, how long does the residency waiver apply? Meaning, If I pay the residency waiver to satisfy my ASBA, will that same waiver apply to my BSBA if I complete it within 6 months, one year, 18 months etc?
Please advise. Thanks,
TESU:

How would you advise that I reply to the email? I would like to be sure I'm receiving the correct response to my inquiry.
Additionally, I have requested that my application status be updated to reflect the Study.com membership. I have sent other requests that have been replied to but that one is being ignored and my application still says NJAPP. Do you think I'll get better response by phone?

That's a very very good question. I would ask them this or reverse the order, indicate you're going for the BSBA and when you're about done, you want to add the ASBA to it. Ask them, if you fulfill all your requirements for the BSBA and want to add the ASBA, if there will be an extra fee for the waiver.

Perhaps that's the difference...the degree level? Maybe there is a duration if I go from BS to AS since its a "step down/back/whatever"?
Aurelius, can you remember if you pitched it that way perhaps?

Why would you do this? Getting an ASBA at the same time as the BSBA (from the same school) would be pointless.

TESU:
It is correct that the Residency Waiver Fee is good for one year because it will keep you account active for one year and allow you to opt out of the Residency Requirements but if you are requesting two different degrees at two different times you would need to pay the Residency Waiver Fee for each degree if you are requesting them at the same then you would only pay one fee.
Have a good day.

Don't remember my exact wording but I asked how long would the waiver cover the residency requirement for future graduations and they gave me an exact date. This was a few months ago.
