Degree Plan - TESC BA in Psychology - Suggestions/Comments welcome!
#1
Hey all. I have spent a good amount of time laying out my degree plan and was hoping I could get some feedback. I am ready to jump in with both feet and having this all planned out will be a huge help in wrapping my mind around the process and moving forward. I am new to all of this so I am sure I have made some mistakes laying things out. Feel free to poke holes in my plan if need be. Also looking for suggestions as to "easier" courses if you see something that can be substitued. I am just looking to do this in the most efficent way possible!! Thanks for all of the great threads on here that I have used as a resource! Especially sanantone - your wiki's helped immensely!!

I just looked and Psychology of Adulthood and Aging is listed as a 300 level class. I will check with an advisor before I proceed with that.

Thanks sanantone. Any other feedback regarding my plan? I know you are one of the resident masters at this.

Yes, you'll need at least 18 UL credits. The Liberal Arts Capstone will be a TESC course, not a TECEP. If you're okay with mathematics, I would recommend adding several ALEKS courses in. Also, if you're not in a hurry, you could include several of Saylor's NCCRS-recommended courses which cost only $25 for the proctored exam. Here's how it would fit...

If the OP is trying to meet the residency requirements for the Per Credit Tuition Plan, then seven TECEPs will be needed in addition to the capstone. If the OP is a U.S. citizen, then TEEX and NFA will provide 9 free credits for free electives.

laughter - what is the benefit of ALEKS courses you filled in vs the others? Mathematics is my weakest point so I dont plan on taking any other math related classes although I may need to to pass statistics. I'm trying to avoid thinking about that part of it. :willynilly: Also, why 'if I'm not in a hurry' regarding Saylor? Are they only offered at certain times?

sanantone - thanks for the heads up on the TEEX/NFA stuff. I will look into it.

I appreciate both of your responses!!!

ALEKS is cheaper, but earning 24 credits in residence will allow you to avoid the high enrollment fee under the Enrolled Options Plan.
