Hello, my daughter, son and myself all graduated from TESU with BALS in 2013-2015. My daughters partner is now wanting to finish a BA with the goal of getting a Masters in Education. What would be the best plan for a bachelors with speed being the priority. I was thinking TESU as that is what I know, all thoughts and advice appreciated.
Thank you so much.
Your Location: Seattle, Washington
Your Age: 40
What kind of degree do you want?: The quickest one to complete, my goal is to continue on to WGU to get a Masters in Education.

With this number of credits, and with speed and cost in mind, it is hard to beat UMPI.
Recommend looking at UMPI's BLS options - for example, the BLS with a minor in Educational Studies:
He'll need to take 10 classes at UMPI (30 credits), which would likely take somewhere between 2-3 sessions at UMPI (8 week term, so around 16-24 weeks). Missing credits to get up to 90 transfer credits in can come from Sophia and Study.com

Another possible option from a gander at the credits already completed: BA in History https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/UM...egree_Plan

@Zillapilla, Basically, for max transfer of credits, the TESU BALS or Excelsior BALS would work, if you're looking at competency based degree options, then TAMUC BAAS or UMPI BLS are your best bets, it really does matter what you need or want and how your addendum and template information variables play out.

Has TESU already evaluated the previous credits?
I'm concerned that the written communication section of the plan won't work. It seems that the SUNY Brockport ENL112 COLLEGE COMPOSITION may be equivalent to English Composition I at TESU. If so, the CLEP College Composition Modular would duplicate that.
Regarding the remaining outstanding credits: Is there are reason why the plan includes so many different sources? It would likely be easier, faster, and cheaper to do everything possible on Sophia Learning plus CLEP and then move on to Study.com for the rest. ALEKS College Algebra will be a long slog compared to Sophia. StraighterLine can get expensive with course fees on top of membership, plus student experiences there can be iffy. They're going to be paying for a Sophia membership anyway, so why not do more than one course while there?
TESU Class of 2024 BSBA-CIS+GM, BSIT, ASNSM-CS+Math, AAS-GEN
Earned credits from Sophia, SDC, ASU ULC, TEEX, Microsoft, Strayer, TESU, Saylor, DSST, CLEP, CompTIA, StraighterLine, and others since starting in April 2020

Thank you. I think he is going to go with TESU and use CLEP, Sophia, Straighterline and study.com to complete the degree. I started a new post asking for help in looking over the plan.

No this is just me coming up with a plan.
CLEP College Composition for 6 credits would work though?

Merging your threads, I would only focus on each provider at a time, so it'll look like this, CLEP/Modern States, Sophia.org, Study.com, I would skip the StraighterLine option unless they provide classes not offered by any of these above. You can also look at the cheapie & freebie options on the WIKI, such as Saylor.org, Onlinedegree.com, etc. As many of these would hit the free electives, see Link: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Fr..._of_Credit
Edit/Update: Here's a post in regards to inexpensive NCCRS options, LawShelf has many classes that can transfer into TESU, some being upper level as well. Link: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...#pid400969

Yes, the CLEP College Composition (Full/Regular) gives 6 credits at TESU satisfying English Composition I&II. Alternatively, they could use the existing SUNY credit for English Comp I (Confirm what it comes in as at TESU first) and one of these options for Comp II:
- TECEP ENC-1020
- DSST Principles of Advanced English Composition
- Sophia English Composition II
See my edit to my initial reply regarding additional concerns about other credit source choices.

The composition program at Brockport consists of two classes:
ENG 102 provides foundational skills in expository writing and intensive work on the production of standard, written English.
ENG 112 focuses on the writing process, argumentative writing, and research. This course meets one of the general education requirements at the University.
