Friday rolled around and I wasn't sure if I could pull myself out of bed, but I received some great news! I'd been doing a 40hr state certification training for peer work/community support worker, and had one stellar teacher along with one who struggles to read and makes me want to fall to sleep. Luckily I checked my e-mail first thing Friday morning and found that I'd been granted a $600 scholarship from the same organization that granted me the $125 scholarship last year. :hurray::hurray::hurray: The $125 let me apply to TESC and send over my transcripts while I was unemployed. Last year they sent me a check and I just had to show where the money went. This year the organization wants to send the check directly do the school. I've been doing my TECEP registrations online, so I'm just curious how this will work. How long does it normally take TESC to add the money to a student's account? If I register for a course or TECEP online will it simply deduct from the account? Or do I need to call into the school to register?
This scholarship will basically cover me for 15 more credits... 12 PLA credits and 1 more TECEP along with the study book. I'm on the per credit credit tuition plan requiring 24 credits for residency. I have 3 from Abnormal Psychology, and will have 3 more from the Psychology of Women TECEP exam once I take it - which I've already paid for out of pocket. So basically after this I will just need to pay for and take the capstone course and the graduation fee, which will come to $1,772. I'm really happy to be so close to finally finishing! Maybe this summer I'll finally land a job with normal hours again to be able to pay for this. Of course, on the off chance that I find a normal job sooner, I may just switch residency plans so I don't have to take the extra credits just to meet residency.
Oh, and TESC also vetoed my BA LDAS plan, so I switched to liberal studies with emphases in multimedia communications, social & human services.
