COSC Information System Studies - Logic Req.
#1
So I kind of forgot about the Logic requirement for the Information System Studies Concentration...In my Concentration Plan, they approved a class that I was planning on taking through JavaOnline.org. However, I don't think I have the time for taking all the classes for this requirement. (They wanted me to take at least three of these programming courses to fulfill this.)

Is there any other credits or tests that could fulfill this? How about Penn Foster's CSC105 - Introduction to Programming course? I'd hate to have to spend the money at COSC to take their logic course. I really don't have the funds to do so. Please help.

Thanks everyone!

One of my programming classes from community college met the logic requirement. You could ask about the Staighterline course Into to Programming in C++. I don't see it on the equivalency list.

Cool, thanks! Guess I didn't realize StraighterLine was offering any tech classes yet. I'll definitely check it out.

this is probably not the kind of logic you need, but how about the UExcel Introduction to Philosophy exam

Description: The examination measures knowledge and understanding of the material typically taught in a one-semester survey course in philosophy.
The examination content reflects common knowledge drawn from courses with such titles as Introduction to Philosophy or Basic Philosophical Issues.
The examination tests for a knowledge of facts and terminology and an understanding of logic, epistemology, metaphysics, and ethics.
Students will be expected to know logical reasoning, the history of philosophy, and the different approaches to various philosophical problems. No previous knowledge of philosophy is required prior to beginning study for this examination. (Multiple-choice examination.)

Exam Type: Multiple Choice

Credit / Level: 3.0 / Lower

Exam Fee: $95*

I took a Philosophy course at my community college, but the credit didn't apply for that area, so I'm assuming this may not either...but it's worth asking about. Thanks for the link. I need to look at the UExcel courses to see what's available. Think it's the only test I haven't checked out yet.
