Hello everyone I am new here. I am puzzled because instantcert offers both DSST and ECE flash cards for the same subject. For experienced test takers, which examinations do you recommend? would it be easier to take the DSST or ECE?

DSSTs are usually more general, whereas ECEs (and TECEPs and other school-specific exams) are typically based around a specific text or series of texts. If you want ease of study, and availability and cost of study sources, I would go with the DSST versions.

I agree with mrs. b.
I will add that sometimes the ECE is preferred because the ECE may be considered upper-level, while the same DSST may be considered lower-level. For example, the Human Resource Management ECE and the Organizational Behavior ECE are both given upper-level credit at COSC, but the DSST exams for these subjects are given lower-level credit. I am planning on taking these two ECE exams (Lord willing) for that reason. If I didn't need the upper-level credit and was just looking at difficulty, I would take the DSST tests.
I don't know what the future holds, but I know Who holds the future.

IIRC, EC and COSC will only give LL credit for the Human Resource and Organizational DSSTs while giving UL credit for the ECEs. TESC will give UL credit for the DSSTs.
