Would you? Staighterline ENG102 or Comp Clep
#11
If you require 6cr and are enrolled at TESC - which you are, then the CLEP is the most straightforward and reasonably painless way to get those credits.

By the way, I've been meaning to say "good luck" since reading your TESC enrollment post Smile

You are in the position of being able to make a choice between the CLEP and SL because you already have ENG101 - brilliant. For most other people, the choice will be between CLEP and SL English Composition I + II which changes things a little bit.

If you are a student planning on enrolling at EC, then it has to be SL as that is accepted at EC and the CLEP is not. There is some consolation in that the Written English Requirement at EC is 3cr.

Regarding choosing between the two based on workload for TESC, it would have to be the CLEP again.

Nonetheless, having battled through both of SL's English Composition courses, I have to admit they are really good and that I found them satisfying. Before coming to the expected structures of the essays as SL presents them, I thought I had a fairly decent grasp of language. Hand on heart (and avoiding digging a hole with this post) I have benefited from the courses. Getting the credit was great but something about the course encouraged me to want to produce something a little better than a minimal pass, at least with respect to the essays. I feel that the courses have genuinely helped me at work, too.

On the other hand, just give me the credit for Macroeconomics, already.

Your experience may be similar, reversed, or just a case of finding whatever suits your situation the best. Since you have commited to the enrollment fees at TESC, it does appear that a CLEP is in order.
