Hi,
Has anyone ever taken the DSST principles of statistics test using only IC flashcards? I'm wondering how many actual problems will be on the test. These flashcards seem to be only theory without actual math practice.
Thanks

I tried the $5 practice test from DSST after using only IC- wasn't able to do it. Some people might be able to though, people who have a stronger math background. (There are also Peterson practice exams) Intro to Statistics is available through ALEKS too- you could study or get ACE credit.

There's not a lot of calculation. You need to understand how to work with z-values. Take an unnormalized standard deviation and convert it to a z-value. Also be able to convert in the other direction. You don't calculate a standard deviation. You need to know the formula for a standard deviation. They'll give you parts such as X bar or the square of X bar - X sub i. You plug those intermediate values into the formula and come up with a standard deviation. Once you understand what I typed, then you're ready.
