ALEKS Intermediate Algebra question
#1
Hello everyone, I took the ALEKS IA assessment and scored a 62%. I would like to retake the assessment but cant find a way to do so? What is the passing score required to request ACE credit? How do I retake the assessment? Thanks for your help!

Okay, a 62 early on... not bad at all! Nice job! Anytime you want to "force an assessment" you have to do it through the MASTER account (not the second log on in the student account). If this is your second attempt at an assessment, don't be surprised if they through in weird stuff you have never seen before. Basically, once your force an assessment from the master account (the first log on), then you start you assessment! Good luck and I hope you get a 70 or better soon! You should be close now Smile Hang in there even if you want to scream when they make you do "two more questions" when you get one wrong! LOL! It's a frustrating, but effective tool to make sure you really know what the question is asking and how to work the problem. Rock on Smile

Okay, I know ALEK's can be tricky to navigate. But here's how I think it's done…

1. Log onto the first logon (Master Account)
2. Go down to the bottom where "student account" is and slide over to the right …almost smack in the middle of the page there is a section titled "Reports"
3. Click the first choice, "Student's Progress Reports"
4. Scroll ALL the way down that page and then…
5. Click the green "Request a new assessment now"

It's 10:43 my time, but maybe it's a good time for you now? These tests can take a while. But you can stop them and re-start them which was key to my sanity!

Hope this helps! Best of luck. Remember, all changes, reports, etc. have to be done through the "Master Account". You know you are in the right section when you can see the light blue and dark blue banner at the top of the page that's marked ALEK's Master Account. NOT the student section which is the second logon. That's about the best I can come up with to help you. If you are able to get in great..if not, call ALEK's they were really nice and helpful 95% of the times I needed a hand with the system.

BEST OF LUCK!
Tara

Thanks but for some reason both logins on the aleks website takes me to the learning site with my pie as the homepage? I tried logging in from the main page and the top log in.

Okay, let's try one more time…and if we can't get it together (and no one else pops on that has done this recently) then you'll need to connect with ALEK's.

Okay….shut EVERY thing in ALEKS down.

This is step by step:

1. Go to the Aleks website.
2. You have no choice the first time you have to log onto the blue colored MASTER account. You will know you are in the right part when you see the words Master Account on the top banner in light blue next to the words ALEKS
3. In the second section almost in the middle of the page under the section marked "reports"...
4. Click the green link that says "view progress report"…
5. Once that opens and this is key…scroll all the way down and there is a section at the very very bottom called "More options" in black writing…
6. There will be a green hyperlink that says "Request a new assessment now" CLICK that and test away!

That's the absolute best I can offer…so if you care getting a pie it sounds to me like you are 1. In the student section still not the master account or 2. You are click the pie section which is below the "view progress report" inadvertently or 3. You have some kind of technical thing going on that I don't have the foggiest idea how to help you out with…which is why you might do well to escalate this to ALEKs via phone. They are in California, you might get someone.

Best of luck!
Tara
