hey everyone,
i'm taking the DSST Intro to Computing exam on Tuesday and have been studying for about a week. i've taken the practice tests on the peterson's website and have been scoring in the upper 50s...this scares me because all of the posts i've read claim this test is pretty much dummy-proof and i don't want to fail.
i've been working around/with a computer for about 10 years and am, by no means, a computer genius, but i'm not a total moron either.
does anyone have any encouraging words or suggestions for passing this exam?
thank you!!

Upper 50's is fine... just go over what you got wrong on the practice exams, read the explanations as to why, use that info to write some notes down on things you don't know, review the notes, and take the test.
I studied for about a day and a half and scored a 445 on the test. The test was 94 questions and I was done in 25 minutes. I've been using computers for about 10 years or so too (as have most people because computers didn't really take off until the early 1990's) and I'm definitely not a computer whiz either.
Take it and let us know how you did.

Okay so I paid the $5 and took a DSST practice exam for Intro to Computing and scored 34 correct out of 50. Do you think this would score well enough for a pass had it been the actual exam?

Yes that's about 70% and why did you pay when they're free online?

This morning I took DSST Intro to Computing. Many of the questions I knew hands down because of all the practice exams I took. About a third I had no idea about so I guessed.
I was a little nervous to click "End Test" because in total, it only took me about 35 minutes from start to finish.
All ended well. I was ecstatic to see my score of 457 when I needed at least a 400 to pass.
All the prep really did pay off!

See... all that worrying and you beat me by 2 points.
But I was done in 25 minutes...
Nice job though, a pass is a pass is a pass.
