How are the due dates for the assignments changed when you get the eight week extension? How are the points for group discussions not yet completed reallocated since you will no longer able to participate with your cohort? The posted policies on the website do not cover these details. Thanks.

Everything I’ve read indicates that you will not be able to recover the discussion forum points. Due dates for written assignments are negotiated with your mentor. An extension is better than failing the class but it is going to cost you at least a letter grade’s worth of points. It should only be used as a last resort.

Can you triage the work remaining and timely complete the discussion points? You might not be able to get your written stuff and exams done, but maybe skim the material and contribute?

Course extensions are only possible if you've already got permission from the instructor of the course, if you're only wanting to go through with the extension, you should email/chat with the instructor what the best way is to get your assignments completed.
All courses have deadlines but they're flexible if you have prior instructor approval to send them in slightly later due to "life", situations occur where you will not be available a specific time, they understand but you must inform them beforehand.

I did an extension on my capstone course, but it was after I already completed everything except the final paper, so I didn't lose any points on the other stuff. The extension did not affect my grade in any way.
