Hi

Can someone fill me in on the process to take an EC exam and what's the cost to do so?

Hey, Babey,

I believe the costs for EC Exams are as follows (based on the number of semester hours/credits the 'course' would be worth):

ECE - 3 credits $205.00
ECE - 4 credits $235.00
ECE - 6 credits $295.00
ECE Practice tests $60.00

I believe you sign up through Pearson Test Centers EC Exam page when you have an EC ID number, but I could be wrong. You might have to start the process on the EC site first...I'm sure someone who has done it will chime in.

I went on the ECE web site under exams and had to pay for the exam first. About a day or so later it will show up as paid on the Pearson site so that you can schedule the exam. Without paying for the exam through ECE, you can not schedule the exam on the Pearson site. You can sign up on Pearson and establish your user name and password. (even before you sign up for an exam and pay for it on the ECE site) It takes a day or so before they send a confirmation and then you can log in thereafter.

In steps do the following:
1. Get a user name and password established for Pearson
2. Go on the ECE site to find and pay for the exam you wish to take
3. Go the Pearson site to schedule the exam

Hope this helps.
