Confusion regarding BOG fees
#1
Earlier while checking the wiki, I saw there was a $300 evaluation fee for the BOG program. Now I am seeing a $130 new student fee in some places. I checked their fees page and it lists both! [https://www.pierpont.edu/cost-aid/cost/tuition/]

There's also a technology fee mentioned there for all students. Have anyone applied for the program recently? Is it a total fee of $130 or $300? or is it both + the technology fee?

I have applied and got my creds but didn't communicate regarding the fees yet. Could anyone please clarify?

Just the new student fee of $130 if before the Fall term. In the fall term, the fee is going up to $350 inclusive of the new student fee.

The $300 fee is for applicants who want to do Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) in lieu of credits, which is not the recommended path for the BOG.

I applied and got my creds, and 2 ACE credit posted out of 25 and none of my 19 RA credits were posted at all. I haven't been asked to pay anything nor can I see any information on how to pay. Is that normal?

It takes a bit of time before things show up in ROAR. Patience is key - they've been dealing with graduation in this month. If you start to feel concerned because it's been a while, you can reach out to Nancy via email.

Basically, if you graduate this last term, it'll be $130+ cost of transcripts. If you graduate starting Fall 2024, it'll be $350+ cost of transcripts. Yes, patience is really key here, you want to review the sticky thread for Lisa and Nancy contact info and what's posted, don't bombard them if you don't have to. And here's your previous posts/thread for more background info so people can help you more: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...ts-at-UMPI

I'm in a similar situation to you on this.

My ACE credits have all appeared, but none of my prior college credits.

My ACE credits are well over the number needed, but I need confirmation that the requirements are all met.

I reached out to Nancy and Lisa about a 2 weeks ago and have still not heard anything back yet.

I know they are busy, but some sort of response would be nice to hear. It's a little frustrating to not know where I stand.

Also, if you are planning to go for UMPI's BAS program, you can reach out to Jessica about your plans for Pierpont and she may be able to go ahead and place you in the BAS program without having the degree conferred yet.

I explained my plans to her and she immediately put me in and started my degree audit

@tdat314, Oh Wow... Yeah, that's exactly the same steps I did, I just emailed Jessica after I found my academic evaluation too... I'm hoping she's able to switch me from the BLS (as there was no BAS option when applying back when I did the application). I already mentioned I wanted to start Summer 2 session and hope to be done in 1 session for the BAS.

Looking forward to an update email and evaluation from her... I know I still need one class to max (I am missing a language class as I haven't taken anything, I don't recall taking anything after French Immersion from Gr 4 - Gr 12 and I don't want to do the CLEP). I'll do the Sophia.org membership for a month and get some other classes done at the same time...

Aren't specific requirements of the GEC, including foreign language, waived for you because you have a previous bachelor's degree?

Okay so, do I only pay the appropriate fee after I lodge a application to graduate?

Thank you for sticking my previous post along with it. Also question, do you get your Gen Eds waived if you have an AAS or does it only open up the BAS option?

Thank you for the deets on UMPI! Did you email Nancy using your Pierpont email or regular? I feel like they prioritize student emails while responding.

I can confirm that it is still $130 as I have a friend that will be graduating with the Pierpont BOG this semester. After you submit your Application for Graduation to Lisa, you can pay the $130 student fee at the Student Accounts office via the phone or on ROAR. My friend was told he would have to wait a couple days for his Application for Graduation to get process before he could pay the fee. I don't remember having to wait to pay the fee before, but it seems reasonable with how busy they are. You should contact Nancy via the Pierpont email.

And on the transcript issue, the same friend submitted his Credly transcript 4 times (once a week) because admissions kept saying they never received it. The day they confirmed that they finally received the Credly transcript, the Credly credits showed up in ROAR. Since it takes 3-4 weeks for Pierpont to process Credly credits, it was probably the first transcript he sent that got processed.
Week 1 and 4: ESprocessing@pierpont.edu
Week 2: admit@pierpont.edu
Week 3: processing@pierpont.edu
