Confusion regarding BLS project management courses

Hello folks,

I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to discuss my conversation with Jessica about the BLS PM minor. Because I am completely perplexed, the answer appears to deviate from what I learned on this forum.
Below highlighted in red is the reply from her, just 2 quick questions. 
1. Can I substitute Bus 440 for Bus 401 (Advanced Project Management Applications II)? Because I only see Bus 401 on the UMPI website's list of core courses.
2. She said I didn't need to take any more elective UL courses. However, according to WIKI, I am supposed to study 5 UL courses at UMPI. Which one is true?


For the core course, 2 of the 4 (highlighted in red in the attachment) need to be chosen among Bus 401, 415, 440, and 469. Can I choose Bus 415 and 440? Sure! 
I am a bit confused with UL electives, 24 credit hours are required. Do I still need to complete a minimum of 5 UL courses although you indicated all "completed" in the evaluation form? No, you've already satisfied that requirement.

You can't go by the UMPI website. Most of that only applies to on campus students. YourPace degrees are a bit different.

The BLS requires 8 UL courses outside of the minor. Not sure what the 5 is? Are you referring to the requirement where you have to complete the majority of those UL's at UMPI? Have you taken 8 ULs outside of the minor at UMPI? This doesn't show us what you transferred in or taken at UMPI.

This form has changed since I completed the BLS. It used to say that the majority of the 24 UL credits had to be completed at UMPI and it said nothing about the advisor providing a list of electives. Wonder if they changed this rule?

You can complete courses on Sophia for less than Study. Ethics, sociology, environmental science, and US history are all on Sophia.

How are you waived from the foreign language requirement?

It sounds like you need to talk with your academic advisor. Your questions only they can answer.

If Jessica has said that you don't need to take additional UL courses, you can believe her. 

There may have been a rule, previously, that the majority of the UL courses for the BLS had to be taken at UMPI.

THAT IS NOT THE CASE CURRENTLY. (Many people have confirmed this.)

And Jessica, your advisor, IS the person to listen to on the topic. 

If something she says doesn't match the Wiki, what she says is almost certainly what is correct and what is current policy.

If English is your second language, that is why the language requirement is waived.

The degree plan Jessica sent you looks complete and accurate, and her answers to your questions seem correct and expected.

The only thing I would keep in mind is that you need to take 10 courses at UMPI. If you already took all the study.com courses indicated, you didn't need to. I am guessing you thought you had to take the extra upper levels, and so were planning to do that - that has happened to a few other people as well. the WIKI is, unfortunately, incorrect on that point and needs to be updated.

Hopefully they did graduate by now, but it's a good idea to have some details that may help others in the future if they come across the same thing...
