I am hoping to get some information.
I didn't make the conferral deadline for the August 20, 2010 conferral. So I have to wait until Sept 17th. I am in the process of applying to grad schools but they want me to show them that I have completed my undergrad before they will admit me. If my transcripts are received by Excelsior, even if I am not officially 'conferred', is there a way to show the school with the masters program that I have in fact completed my degree and will submit the transcript upon it being conferred? Does Excelsior has an approved for graduation letter they can send out along with the transcripts?
Has anyone ever run into this problem? I really do not want to wait until the Spring semester to start my program.
Thanks,
Nichole

Once you decide on the school you want, maybe they will let you take the first classes as a non-degree seeking student and admit you once all the transcripts are in. Are you sure you will meet the deadlines for fall? I've only applied to three graduate schools, and two of the three had deadlines in the spring for fall admission (GWU and JHU). Maybe you can talk to an admissions counselor at these schools and get their input on your situation. Good luck!

Yes, it is my understanding that Excelsior offers the letter you need.
If you sign into MyEC then go to the Message Center, click Compose Message. In the section called Request for Letters, choose Letters of Completion. I think that is the one you are looking for.
You will also want to talk with your advisor about when in the process this letter will be available to you, such as they may need to have all of your transcripts evaluated and have given you a conferral date.
Congratulations!!!

NAP is correct. You can request the letter yourself via MyEC or I have had my advisor do it. You can call and talk to an advisor and as long as your packet has been approved for graduation they will issue you a letter of completion. Just make sure you have a specific person to send the letter to at the grad school. The letter will indicate that you have fulfilled all the requirements for your degree and it indicated your expected conferral date. My advisor also sent a copy to me, for my files. It was free and my advisor got it out the next day. I hope this helps.
