Completing TESU BA Communications in 1 year
#1
Hi all,

I am a homeschool mom with 5 kids. My oldest two children have graduated. My middle son is a junior, dual enrolled at the community college. I also have an 8th grader and a 6th grader.

My husband is active duty military and I was planning to go back to school to finish my degree back in 2011. I took the Analyzing and Interpreting Lit CLEP and passed it. Unfortunately, I had an unexpected flare of some health issues that prevented me from pursuing my schooling goals at that time. We have transferred to another duty station and it appears that this is where my husband will retire from military service. I just realized a few weeks ago that once he retires, I will no longer qualify for TESU military tuition discounts. I have one year to complete my degree via testing and TESU. Is there any possibility that someone could help me put together an updated degree plan for a BA in Communications from TESU? If possible, I would like to include a minor/AA in Homeland Security and Emergency Management to prepare me to work with organizations who respond to natural disasters (but the main priority is the BA).

Here are my current credits:

University of Massachusetts Lowell
Anatomy and Physiology I: 3 credits
Human A & P Lab I: 1 credit
College Writing I: 3 credits
Human Development I: 3 credits
Intro to Sociology: 3 credits
Community Health: 3 credits
Human Nutrition: 3 credits
TOTAL UMASS: 19 credits

North Shore Community College
Anatomy and Physiology II: 4 credits

Prince George¹s Community College
General Psychology: 3 credits

Analyzing and Interpreting Literature
CLEP: 6 credits

TOTAL CREDITS: 32 credits

Thank you for any help you can offer!

Kind regards,

Loralee

I created a spreadsheet for you. It lists all of your credits except College Writing I - just because I'm not sure if that will come into TESU as English Comp I or not. If it doesn't, then I don't want you to be surprised. If it does, fantastic.

All of the comm courses you need for the degree can be found through most of the popular ways here on this forum. I did not include a couple of courses that are available through TorCollegeCredits (Ethics in Comm I & II), but those are available as well.

With this degree plan, the only TESU course you will need to take is the capstone.

Thank you, dfrecore for taking time to put this together for me!

I am sure I will have more questions, as I review it.

I appreciate your time!
