If you go to BC can you answer me this question do they give credit for dsst or not? I go to broward college and I was just wondering because on the dsst website broward college is not listed on as one of the colleges that accepts dsst but when i went on the broward.edu site it said they award credit for dsst.

The school's website is going to be more accurate than the CLEP and DSST websites. For example, the CLEP website says that TESC only accepts one CLEP exam. That is not true; TESC accepts all of them.

Just got some information. If you don't pass the initial assessment in order to move on to the final assessment and have to access the course materials, you will have to pay $110.90 per credit hour in-state or $328.10 per credit hour out-of-state. They completely missed the idea behind competency-based programs.

Too bad, it was interesting seeing a CC attempting something like what WGU does. Maybe they will change in the future, who knows. What I was most intrigued by (speaking of WGU) was how do they handle applicants that already have some of the industry certs that some of their courses are supposed to prep you for? At the very least they list two A+ courses and one Security+ course. What if you already have those? Do they automatically give you credit for the courses like WGU does? Or do they make you sit through the assessments for those anyway? Because that would suck :ack:

I looked at their "Student Guide". They barely mention the actual industry certifications. It says nothing about having them or getting them, and actually it is quite poor that they don't even try to explain what certs the "IT Analyst" track prepares you for as opposed to the "IT Support Specialist" or the full AS. In fact, they list the "Analyst" track as being 27 credits but the course-by-course breakdown is 8 courses that are 3 credits each. 8 times 3 is 24, not 27 Rolleyes . And on the next page they talk about testing your math skills banghead . In all seriousness probably the most important thing is on page 5 of this guide: this course does not calculate GPA and it talks about "competency units" instead of credits per se. I think they are blurring the lines between CC and a professional prep school.
