Common Courtesy: Respect!
#1
Hi guys. Show common courtesy. DegreeForum does not have that many rules and very few regulations about it. So, this is primarily a plea to the people on this board.

If you do not like UMPI, that is fine. However, please, do not shit upon people who do like UMPI and achieve degrees with it. Please, respect those in here using the University of Maine at Presque Isle for their path to getting their Bachelor's or Master's degree! UMPI is a fully accredited public state university and has earned its reputation over 118 years of being an operating college. This includes private messaging people about their school choice, don't do that and be a negative Nancy!

The UMPI University of Maine at Presque Isle Discussion forum is here for UMPI talk. Not for you to harass, poke holes in plans, or demotivate people. These are real people, with real lives, real students. We all need to be encouraging of them!

This is what was agreed to when you signed up. While we can't really do anything about PMs if they aren't forwarded to a moderator, don't harass people for choosing a particular school. That's very uncool.

Congrats ashkir on your recent graduation! UMPI seems like a fine school.

Thanks for the note as it is timely. Respect should be extended to UMPI and to all schools mentioned on this board. Unfortunately, not everyone plays by the rules. Hopefully your call to action will motivate others to consider their choice of words before posting on this forum.

That is interesting, most if not all the threads and posts I've read were all positive comments. If there were any negative comments, I may have missed it as well. Good luck in your current MAOL studies... Keep continuing on that educational journey until you're done and ignore those negative posts if any.

Mostly came through PMs, and there's been some subtle negatism. The last big one that was outright negative a mod removed a bit back. But I wanted to give folks a reminder that we're all here to get an education and we should all work towards that goal!
