Hello, all --
I'm bolstering my degree plan (EC BS Business, MIS concentration) with some online classes (the MIS concentration, basically). So for Fall term I took two online classes, and overall it's been great, and I pretty much had two As locked in...until today.
My Final exam in E-commerce at Chadron State College, just 3 little essay questions, about emerging technologies, issues to consider in starting an e-commerce business, and what I learned and how I would apply it -- not hard, but I bombed it. Ugh! I'm not great at writing under a time limit, and with 23 minutes left my browser locked up, forcing me to restart my computer. I left one question mostly unanswered as a result. I'm looking at a B if I'm lucky. I am demoralized.

I'm sorry to hear about your computer locking up during your final. I'm taking classes at TWU. One of the classes I just finished was Constitutional Law. The final was 30% of my grade. I think there were 58 problem, all of varying points, and of course it was a timed exam. I got to question 15 and my internet service went down. By the time it was back, the time limit for the exam was over. I emailed the professor and basically said that my internet went down, and that I hoped that I woud get credit for the work I had gotten done, but that I didn't even know how many points I had earned because it locked up before I could iht the final button. After talking it over with the teaching assistant, they decided to allow me an opportunity to retake the exam.
I thought I was going to have a heart attack when the internet went down, and I cried lots of tears. You truly have my sympathies.

I'm fairly sure most people who have taken online classes have run into this at one point or another, and the best solution is to email the professor as Namivie stated asap and make them aware of the issue. My professors have reset exams several times for me, they tend to understand technology is unreliable and will treat the situation accordingly.
I m edumakated thanx to distunce lerning.

Don't stress it too badly. The funny thing about expectations in my experience is that the stronger they are, the less likely they are to be true. If I just "know" I bombed a test, I usually do quite a bit better than I thought I would. The converse is also true however; and I've had quite a few times where I "knew" I aced a test to instead get a B or a C. I think our expectations feed upon themselves after awhile and completely skew our sense of reality.
I agree with the others - Give the professor a call and let them know what happened. They may give you another chance to finish. Either way, don't stress out over it. It already happened and you can't change it, so you can only soldier on. Just one of life's little challenges, you know?

Turns out my instructor gave me an additional 60 minutes -- but I didn't check my email in time to use it...but she also gave me full credit for my two fully answered questions and points for the partial one. By the numbers that just barely saves my A.
Thank you to those who responded, for your encouragement. Now on to project Management, Java I, and two Econ CLEPs!
