Hi,
I'm taking the College Math Clep next Friday and have been using REA and instacert.
Can anyone tell me what kind of calculator is used duing the exam? Does it have a square root and/or exponant key?
Also--exactly which equations have to be memorized? So far on my list I have the quadradic (sp? sorry, by brain already hurts), logarithms, linear. Do we really have to memorize the standard deviation equation? (uh oh)
Thanks much!!

Hi there! Have you read through the specific feedback forum yet? There will be lots of helpful hints in there. It's been so long since I've taken the test that I don't remember a lot. Ha ha not to mention that I was so nervous while I was taking this one, I am sure that it's affected my memory.
I don't remember needing to memorize much, but again check the specific feedback thread. I also know that I didn't bring a calculator in and there were no questions asked that couldn't be answered easily with the provided calculator. Trust me, at the basic college math level that the test is geared towards, they're not trying to make you answer anything advanced like calculating square root without a calculator.
Hopefully others will have more to add too. I'm not sure if this helps, but I graduated high school in 1993 having taken my last math class as a sophmore in 1991 and never used math in my job and managed to take a few weeks to brush up using ALEKS and IC (Not sure how necessary ALEKS was), and youtube lectures and managed to pass. I only scored a 53, but I really wasn't trying to knock it out of the park. I just wanted to learn enough to get the 6 credits. It's not a hard test. It's not easy for the math-impaired like myself, but you can do it.

you don't need to memorize the formula. As long as you have a decent grasp of what standard deviation is . . . then you're fine. standard deviation is NOT a huge issue with this exam.
I just took this last week and passed w/ a 67! (and I didn't have any formulas memorized) This test seemed easier than all but one practice test. (I took 8 total,
)
