Whats the best way to turn my associates into a BA
#1
I expect to get a pell grant. I don't have a lot of money and live about an hour away from any testing centers.  I have 69 credit hours and a 2.3 gpa.  I dont care what the degree is in or where I get it.  I'm mostly concerned with it being cheap and fast.  Any help would be appreciated.  I pasted a transcript if that helps.

You have a lot of culinary arts credits, however, I don't see a lot of GenEd credits.
Send in your transcripts to COSC (its the cheapest) and see what courses you will need, then complete at SL (lower-level) and SDC (upper level). note: each course at SL and SDC cost around $70/each, with monthly subscription cost, its easier to calculate each course at $100/each.

Another option. Apple and send in transcripts to WGU, see what courses you will need (WGU only accepts 90 credits). Then finish up the remaining 30 at WGU, however, you can apply for full pell grant status per term.

Possum - Do you already have an associates from your community college that you attended? Are you going to go for one? You have several options.

1) Go for a BALS (Liberal Studies) or a BSBA (Business). My suggestion is to create a spreadsheet of courses you need for the degree you want.
2) Get all your general education courses completed first with Saylor/CLEP, the free courses on the Wiki and the $39 CSMLearn course.
3) Finish off your degree with StraighterLine and Study.com

Note: I would recommend completing all your courses through ACE recommended for credit providers and not the NCCRS providers as WGU doesn't take NCCRS credits. So that means no Coopersmith, Davar, Onlinedegree.com

Do you work in restaurant/hospitality/culinary now? Is that your continued goal? Do you work for a corporate employer now? Ex Compass Group, Disney, Marriott, etc. because if you do, there are some options you might want to think about.

"Cheap and fast in anything" is not going to change your life. People who DO GET RESULTS from that approach are professionals already working in a career that is being stunted because they don't have a degree- they literally need a degree in anything in order to advance. But that is a poor strategy if you're still starting your career. Your training is in restaurant/hospitality/culinary, so let's think about how you can bring a sharper focus to your goals to build on what you already have.

Now, if you want to change fields entirely, that's a different question.

You didn't say what degree you wanted. You also didn't say what kind of school this was at; is it RA or NA?

And, let us in on the secret - how did you take Comp II when you didn't take Comp I? Most schools have I as a pre-req for II.

I'm going to roll the dice and predict this is a community college. 5 gen eds and 69 credits feels like an AAS at a CC to me (NA culinary school wouldn't offer gen eds - students hate those and chefs can't teach them) but no practicum though, so that's strange, makes me think it *isn't* an American Culinary Federation accredited program, so possibly there isn't a good relationship or job placement opportunity in this community. Just guessing - hopefully the op will follow up.
