Clep questions

So I found this great website. Lawrie Miller's BA in 4 Weeks. Online degrees by distance learning. BA degree and graduate degees - Accelerated Master Degrees by Distance Learning.. Basically it breaks down What courses have got to be taken to achieve a business degree at ECE.

I have a question tho. The library i have does not have CLEP books. What do you guys use to study. I am trying to achieve a degree as fast as possible so telling me to get a college level book is out of the question.

Most people on here will tell you to get an IC membership :]

But CLEPs are totally doable without IC, or even CLEP books (although they are both extremely helpful!) With the huge wealth of information on the internet, I think it is totally possible to pass CLEPs without books. However, it is very hard to know that you are studying the right thing, so you may spend a lot of extra time studying stuff that isn't on the test.

So, if you're looking for fastest way, I prescribe REA study guides, this forum, Peterson's tests, and Wikipedia :]

Well I am an IC member but. The questions seem totally random its more of remembering the answer. I like getting the bigger picture first. not working my way backwords with little pieces of information. IC is just quizzes right?

It's more than just remembering the answer. You have to actually understand why 'xyz' is the answer. I used Wiki, Petersons, and clep study guide that I bought through Amazon.
Do a SEARCH and you will find everything you need to know

I have not tried this yet, but it is possible to order the REA guides from other libraries through a local library. Correct?

It seems from your post you do not want to buy the study guides. That is OK but at some point you do need to invest the time, money and energy it will take to get your degree done.

If you are trying to watch your pennies, then plan out your next three CLEP's etc, figure out which study guide works best for which test (use the Specific Exam site for that - priceless!) and then order them used on great sites like BetterWorldBooks.com etc. BWB sends the books slowly but free. For just a few bucks shipping they go much faster. Heck you can sell them on ebay if you want later.

I got totally organized for the first few exams so I would not have any reason to stop preparing. Beat the heck out of the Specific Exam site, buy the study guide that everyone recommends for that test, do the Peterson exams in three stages: 1) do half of the first one before you start to study just to see how good your guessing skills are 2) do the rest of the first one after a few days or a week or ?? of studying. 3) take the second Petersons exam a few days later and then take the third one the day before you think you are ready to sit for your exam.

I made up a notebook with my notes from my study guide, re-wrote them once or twice to reorganize my thoughts and to read them again, used the IC flashcards and then said "if the light at the corner is green then it is time for me to take my test" and off I went.

Good luck but plan ahead so you are moving, moving, moving through your degree plan.

I tried using BWB in the past, and not only were they beyond incredibily slow (almost a month to get my books) the packaging that they use is not CD friendly. The CD for the REA GRE Psych that was included with the book arrived shattered. Just a heads up on that...

Depends on how extensive your Interlibrary Loan service is. My library system is big enough that I haven't had to use ILL for anything except GRE Lit materials (Dear GRE). Your library will probably at least have CLEP Success and Cracking the CLEP.
