Help anyone! :-) I am studying for humanities clep and could really use insight from someone who has taken it. So far, the flashcards are kicking my butt.... it's been a long time since I have studied any of this stuff.
Any suggestions, ideas, comments on the test etc.... would be of great help to me! Thanks!

I just passed the Hummanities clep. It is do able! But knowing the flashcards is a must. Just relax.. learn a section at a time. Take a look at sparknotes, wilkipedia for the things you don't have a clue about. Hummanities can be interesting and fun. I also found watching Jeopardy and other trivia shows can be helpful. Good Luck!

Yep, I agree. The IC Flashcards are the best way to prepare for this exam. That and looking up what you're unfamiliar with on IC.
I used:
• IC flashcards
• Kaplan practice exam
• Peterson’s practice exam
• Princeton Review practice exam
• Two REA practice exams
• An art history book, which I gave a cursory reading
• Wikipedia
Hope it goes well for you,
R.

I just took Humanities recently, and noticed that there was a lot of music trivia questions on the test. I studied hard to learn all the Renaissance artists, and got very few questions about them! This was my favorite test to take because I love music and literature, but you really have to be strong on these two subjects.
Good luck!

I agree. I love classical music, so that was a help for the exam.
deepa_np, 350 correct out of 375 is very good. It sounds like you have a good chance. If you are paying for InstantCert right now, I would recommend going through the Humanities flashcards and reading the everything there. It's worth the $20 a month.
Another tip would be to take some more practice tests. There are two humanities in Peterson's CLEP Success book, which is available online for free:

Hope you pass with flying colors,
R.

Yes. If you use IC and look up everything you don't know on Wikipedia, this one will be an easy pass for you. Western Art! That was one of the parts I had to work harder on.
Just work on
breadth. That may mean having a dozen Wikipedia pages open at a time, but it will be worth it.
