Does anyone know if UMPI will accept Introduction to College Mathematics from Sophia for their Liberal Arts degrees? Its a brand new class.
Its more common for colleges to accept a lower level math for Liberal arts degrees ,instead of College Algebra.
Let me know
Thanks

UMPI requires algebra at minimum. Definitely take the class to build up to algebra, if you want, but Sophia algebra is pretty easy to complete.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA
Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

College Algebra is the lowest math class they accept for the GEC. Statistics is considered MAT101 at UMPI. They don't offer anything like an intro to math course outside of a remedial level. I wouldn't expect it to transfer as an elective. If you need a foundation in math the into to math class is a good place to start. If you just want an elective I would take one that we know counts as an elective such as Visual Communication.
