Cheapest degree in Education?
#1
The US government has a scholarship called the TEACH grant that pays $4,000 per year of a Master's degree program in Education. I'm thinking about going to the cheap accredited school so that I can stretch it out, possibly compounded with other scholarships, and complete my Master's degree with very little investment. Sure, there's strings attached, but I rather have a legitimate Master's degree on the cheap than go into debt to study something I truly am interested in, such as the Master's in Public Administration course offered by Capella.

What do you think about it? I don't mind being a teacher, though. It seems like a rewarding career. I have kids and I have a lot of patience.

I would hate having a teacher who "didn't mind" being a teacher. Sounds awful. I would much rather have a teacher who got into it because they couldn't imagine doing anything else.

I would also never get a master's degree just because it was cheap, if it wasn't something I truly wanted to do. Also sounds awful. If I'm going to spend years of my life doing this, it's going to be something I really, really want. Otherwise, it's a waste of time. And, what if you end up hating it? You will have to pay back that $4000 a year. No thanks.

I believe I read about some a bit under $10,000.
