Isn't Excelsior a public school?

When it was called USNY it was.  When it went to Regents College and now Excelsior College (NY State moto) it became a Private Non-Profit.

The Excelsior Scholarships has nothing to do with Excelsior College.  Its a name mixup.

I'm going to guess that anything other than 1000 students is going away, along with all of the many options for concentrations under the more popular degrees (they will narrow those down to the most popular as well).

I can't imagine a school doing away with a business degree, that would be silly.

I'm also going to guess that they get rid of most AA/AS's, create a general one that will work for all degrees, get rid of the AA capstone, and really just pare down the offerings (I have always thought they had way too many).

I'm guessing there aren't many people doing that anyway, so it's not going to make a difference.

My Capstone course only had one student (me).  I had one-on-one weekly discussions with the Notre Dame professor at Excelsior College.    It was very educational.  It's an expensive model.

My HC and FTCC online courses average 20 students so weekly discussions work.  Less professor work and more $$$ to the college.  It's about finding the right sustainable model.  I do not believe EC is hurting, but they need to stop the money losers?

Business and Liberal degrees are common and easy to fill classes.  Many Veteran students just need degrees to check the box.  EC has 46% of these type of students.  Nursing already has large numbers.  

All those concentrations need to be streamlined.  Get rid of CERTs unless they are stackable.  Stackable ones are excellent.  I think we here could design efficient stackable degrees that are more sustainable.

Yep. I just finished up my Liberal Arts degree at Excelsior. More of a check box degree but I really enjoyed Excelsior, no complaints here ?
