Tassel is included in package if you buy one. But I guess you already have cap&gown from previous year's commencement; it would be silly to pay for the full package just to get tassel.

Yes I am well aware. That package also costs $140 so a lot of people not going to Commencement probably aren't buying it. I found the tassel on Amazon.

the package with regalia costs $30 + ~$12 shipping. I am not sure where you got $140 from.

My screen said $140 which I though was insane. It was free last year when Commencement was virtual.

$140 is insane, but not that bad comparing to other colleges. A friend of mine was graduating from local university a couple of years ago. Renting bachelor's regalia costed her ~ $150 (yes, that's just for renting), if she wanted to own it, the price was even higher. She ended up ordering her cap&gown from amazon for about $25-$30. She told that the quality of amazon purchase was higher than the quality of school-provided regalia.
I am so glad UMPI is not about squeezing every single penny out of their students.

Last year's cap & gown were made from recycled materials. There was a whole lot of green info on the packaging. I think it was made from recycled plastic bottles.

When the link was first sent out, my screen said $140 too which is why I put it in the back of my mind. It must have been an error or they changed it last minute. I wish they would have sent an updated email to say that the price had changed or I would have just purchased it through them.
