Can you point me in the right direction?

You can ask them and see if it affects your application (I highly doubt it would, as you're taking alternative credit for learning purposes that also grant you alternative credit for college). I would take the energy, time you have to complete the cheapies and freebies options in subject matter that interest you, such as the Coursera, TEEX, Sophia.org, and whatever else, like the EdX ones. You're just preparing to transfer the max alternative credits to an institution of choice, do the transfer after you have your answer from them, it should stop you from continuing your learning and accumulation of credits towards that balanced trifecta of certs, degree, experience.

What are some other options besides UMPI that offer flat rate tuition, accept international students and take a good amount of credits now in 2024?

All the competency based degree options we recommend on the board and on the WIKI, including WGU will accept you, as you're already in the US. You can go for non-CBE options such as COSC, Excelsior, TESU if you wanted max transfer of credits instead. CBE gives an option of up to 90 credits transferred, COSC, Excelsior, TESU allow up to 113/114 transfer credits.

Actually I talked to WGU and they told me they need a SSN, which means they only accept US citizens/residents. Besides, the other options (though relatively cheap) are too costly for me right now. I'll update when I get a response from UMPI!

Here's the WIKI link to competency based degree programs, you can check them out: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Co...d_Programs

WGU: International Students

Thank you for your interest in WGU. At the present time, WGU is only accepting applications from individuals living in the U.S., Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, as well as from U.S. military personnel and their families at overseas installations. WGU is also now accepting applications from Canadian residents in certain select geographic areas. (An Enrollment Counselor has more information about which areas are eligible to submit applications.)

Unfortunately, we have discovered that we cannot always guarantee that the educational experience for students living outside the United States will meet our high standards for quality and convenience. It is our expectation that these issues will be resolved in future years. We wish you well in your educational pursuits and regret that we cannot help you at this time.

They should definitely ask. I agree that the alt credit providers might be OK, but people get student visas to attend unaccredited schools all the time, which makes me think even alt credit "freebies" might count as being a student. I wouldn't assume that it's all right, it could trip them up right when they don't need it.

Sooo, update.
I decided that I would like to be a teacher in the future. I always liked teaching and research, and besides it's one of the few professions where you have a significant slot in the year with free time, which I would use to visit my family back home.
But even though I technically could do it, I do feel weird studying at an university while my immigration status is pending, and also about spending money that I should keep in case of emergencies.
However, I do need to do something that stimulates my intellect and that gives me tools for the future. So I'm going to look into the free courses and sources of credit. I already sent my transcripts from FSU to UMPI, however, so I hope I do not have to resubmit them when I eventually apply Big Grin

Ding Ding, and that's working on the ACE options such as the ones I mentioned earlier for Coursera certs, Sophia.org credits, it can all go into the UMPI BAS or BLS, depending on what your end goals are. You can get the BAS/BLS with the Educational Studies minor... Great job so far, again, keep accumulating those inexpensive credits towards the degree by following the WIKI template for Educational Studies minor...

Thank you!

I have a question about the credits, you're supposed to put them on this website called Credly right? I'm trying to send them my credits from FSU but they say that first I need to get a public badge.

Your college credits from FSU don't go on Credly - those transcripts you send directly from whatever service FSU uses for their transcript like Parchment or National Clearinghouse.

Your credits from Sophia, study dot com and other such similar ACE-accredited courses would go to Credly and you can then send a transcript to the school from Credly.
