Hello Everyone,
Hopefully I can receive some good feedback on this question. I came up a point short of a pass on the CLEP Microeconomics exam in it's place does anyone know if the CSU-Pueblo Microeconomics class fit within the Excelsior BS Business degree? I would hate to have to wait six months to take and complete my degree.

Thanks for your help / comments.

The CSU course looks fine, but for $523.50 for the course + video materials, maybe we can find a less expensive alternative?
The University of Idaho's independent study program offers
Econ 202 (microeconomics) online for $100 per credit hour plus $25 course fee, so that's $325 for the class excluding textbooks. The textbook (ISBN 0-201-47385-2) is available on half.com from multiple sellers at the extravagant price of $0.75 (so that's $4.74 with shipping).
LSU offers microeconomics as
ECON 2000, but it's only available as a paper-based correspondence course with lessons submitted through the mail.
You can also take both micro and macro from Straighterline, for $99/month plus materials. You'd have to get the classes transcripted through Fort Hays State University ($30 enrollment plus $2 transcript fee).
Any community college version of microeconomics should meet the requirements, too.

Thank you for your help, on to CSU-Pueblo I come.
I really do appreciate the assistance and feedback that forum members provide, I was laid off a month ago and have passed 10 classes towards finishing my degree and am attempting to finish ASAP. In this economy one needs everything they can to be gainfully employed again.
All the best,
FSJ
Edit: Whoops I meant on to University of Idaho for Micro. Thanks Again

Some time back there were postings on Clovis Community College. Check it out. Even out of state, their per credit hours were very interesting when I just looked in on it. If my memory is correct they had both Macro and Microeconomics.

I just completed the Straighterline Macroeconomics course and am now well into the Microeconomics course. As cost is a big factor for me and possibly for you, this would be a great option. $99 dollars a month and you can buy used texts for around $20-$30. FYI, I should be done with both classes within the month.
Good Luck.

Panther,
It doesn't look like Excelsior accepts Straigterline at least by looking at S. website. I have not called Excelsior yet though. Which school are you attending? One of the four mentioned on the S. website?
Thanks for the info.

Excelsior is not a Straighterline partner school. The partner schools will only grant credit for Straighterline courses for their own enrolled students or for those taking a certain number of credits at the school... except Fort Hays State University.
For Fort Hays, you simply enroll ($30), transfer the Straighterline credits to FHSU, and pay $2 for a FHSU transcript. FHSU is a regionally-accredited state university (Kansas) and the transcript lists the credits as FHSU credits, so you can transfer them to any college.

Straighterline now lists excelsior as a partner school
Don't forget that gaining college credit by taking exams is one of the reason's we're here. That's mainly possible through the flashcards made available by the owner of this forum :
