Has anyone purchased the international version of this book:
Operations Management, 8th edition., Jay Heizer and Barry Render, Prentice-Hall, 2006. ISBN #0131554441
If so was it the same as the US version? Did it have the CD?
Thanks for any information. I am trying to find an inexpensive version of this book with CD.

Thanks for any information. I am trying to find an inexpensive version of this book with CD. I plan on using the international version for the same course. Yes, the one I have is new, with CD. I've used international versions of textbooks many times, and have never had a problem. In fact, I prefer them because the paperback is lighter to carry to work in my backpack. I picked up this book on ebay for $30. As long as it is the same edition of the required textbook, you should be fine. Just make sure it comes with the CD- I understand it is important for this course.

The software is invaluable for this course. I couldn't imagine doing this course WITHOUT the software.
For many problems, the software allows you to select the appropriate spreadsheet module, enter the applicable data, and then display the results at the touch of a button. Those results can then be copied and pasted into a Word document ready to be sent to the professor for grading.
Without the software, you could complete the course, but you would have to do ALL the math and various calculations by hand.
I can't stress this enough....absolutely make sure your copy of the textbook comes with the software CD. I almost think I'd rather take this class with a CD and no book, than with a book and no CD.
Have I made myself clear?
hilarious

Snazzlefrag Is there any one particular software program that is used for this? I see that there are quite a few apps on the CD.

For those currently taking the course or who have completed, how long did it take you to get grades back on the AE assignment after submission and did you set up a mail account with CSU or just use your personal one?

Yes, I'm currently using the international version and it came with the CD. :-) No difference. It's been great!

I have just used personal email. Depends on professors availability. I have turned in the first set of AE assignments and it took 2 days. Turned in the first exam and was scored and returned later that same day.

Are you turning in each AE individually or turning in a group set?
For example before you can get Exam 1 you must turn in AE1 - AE6.
I turned in all AE1-AE6 together. The professor may wait until you turn in all before replying with score for those and the with the exam that covers that section. This may be the reason why you haven't been given a score yet for the first one.
