CS degree quickly help.
#1
My husband is trying to finish up a bachelor's in CS, he had a bad experience with DeVry (years ago) and is trying to find out what would work for him to get a degree to pretty much check a box at work. He is willing to do classes at Sophia if needed. Leaning towards TESU for what seems like the most favorable transfers for him to complete the degree quickly and inexpensively, but we're open to options! Thank you in advance!

Any certifications or military experience? Was an Avionics Tech in the Navy, no certs
Budget: Have some GI Bill and military benefits that can be used, but would like to keep the price down as much as I can
Commitments: Kids/spouse. Currently work full time and can work on studies part time or in the evenings/weekends.
Dedicated time to study: As much as is needed during the night or weekends. Estimate at least 3 hours every week night and on the weekends, maybe 6 hours, total would be roughly 15+12=27 hours or slightly more.
Timeline: ASAP

Hmm, you can do a single degree - AAS Applied Computer Studies & AAS Environmental, Safety, and Security Technologies, ladder that up to the BACS/BSBA CIS combo.  You can take as many Sophia.org/Study.com classes that will go towards both degrees, the only thing required for the AAS is the Associates capstone.  Here's an example thread - Review my posts #13, 15, 17, 19 for sample flat rate classes: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...#pid409642

Has he already applied to TESU? Is he following the wiki?

For Computer Science, TESU is currently the fastest/easiest/cheapest. There are a few other options, but they all have various drawbacks. SNHU costs more and takes longer, for instance.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

Thank you so much! The only thing we were worried about was hitting the maximum credits to be transferred in. When looking at it it seemed like the DeVry credits would be under the RA and have a max of 90 credits and I think 60 credits from Sophia/SDC etc.

That's perfect! He hasn't applied yet because we were trying to get this all figured out beforehand. We have a spreadsheet together of the classes and to keep track and have been looking at the WIKI. I really wanted to bounce it off of everyone because it can be a little overwhelming.

Please do share the spreadsheet! And apply ASAP (and pay for the $52 Medical Terminology TECEP) because we can make a good guess as to where things will go, but only once TESU actually puts things into place will we know for sure. For instance, CIS-339 from DeVry should work as an UL AOS elective. But TESU might reject it for some reason and it winds up as a Misc. Free Elective instead.

There is no max for transfer credits, the number of 114 can be transferred into a TESU degree, 90 of those can be ACE/NCCRS, 30 must be RA. You can do two flat rate terms at TESU for 15+ credits for residency instead of paying the residency waiver fee. As per my link above, select 15+ credits, and you'll be good to go...

To be clear, you can transfer an unlimited amount of credits to TESU, just 114 of 120 will fit the degree... Out of 120, 90 can be ACE/NCCRS, 30 must be RA. I still suggest to focus on the BACS first and have the requirements completed, but also add the BSBA CIS if you have the energy/time to get things done, since you're focusing on Sophia.org, you can take classes that go towards both BACS & BSBA CIS requirements.
