COSC gen ed reqs - can an exam cover 2 at once?
#1
I'm still hemming and hawing over COSC vs EC. If a COSC student or alum can help out with this question, I would appreciate it.

I notice several exams relate to more than one area of the COSC gen ed reqs. For instance, DSST Environment and Humanity is listed as "g,s" which means "global understanding" and "natural science."

My question is, if I were to take this exam, would that satisfy the requirements for BOTH gen ed areas, or would I have to pick one, and take another exam to fill the other?

I know this will be unofficial advice, but it will cost me $1385 for an official eval and degree plan, so I'll take any "off the record" help I can get!

Thanks in advance.

I am also in the process of deciding between one of the big 3.

I was told by an admissions person at COSC that one exam can satisfy multiply requirements.

ok so we have one person who was told one thing, and one who was told the other. can anyone break the tie?

Charter Oak's student catalog says that only one course may fulfill each general education requirement. I would predict that a similar policy applies towards credit by exam, unless said exam is worth more than one course. A 6 credit exam is in essence worth 2 courses. So CLEP Humanities could fulfill two general education requirments, but CLEP Sociology is only going to fulfill one.

Thats just an educated guess though...
