As to be expected, TESC raised its tuition and fees.

I've heard that too, but I can't remember what statistics I've seen. I know community colleges saw a boost in enrollment when the economy crashed. Law schools are seeing a drop in enrollment because of the bad job market for them. For-profit colleges have also been losing students as they discover cheaper options.

I have the data from NCES. I'll focus on the years of 2011 and 2012 since those are the latest listed and the ones that saw changes.

Overall undergraduate enrollment: decreased both years.
2-year institutions enrollment: decreased both years.
4-year institutions enrollment: increased both years.
Total undergraduate fall enrollment in degree-granting postsecondary institutions, by attendance status, sex of student, and control and level of institution: Selected years, 1970 through 2012
Postbaccalaureate enrollment: decreased both years.
Total postbaccalaureate fall enrollment in degree-granting postsecondary institutions, by attendance status, sex of student, and control of institution: 1967 through 2012

There was an interesting Planet Money segment on this a couple of days ago. Basically they argue that colleges are increasing their sticker price at a greater rate than inflation in order to increase their 'prestige value', and that the actual average price paid by students isn't really going up at all.
