COSC is evaluating my transcripts, it looked like they were done already, but they sent an email saying it would be 7-10 days. One of the classes I am sure I will need, is "Oral Communication". That requirement should be able to be met by these:
COM101 Speech Communication Not Met
COM140 Public Speaking Not Met
COM203 Debate Not Met
PUB140 Public Speaking/Debates Not Met
I see that Sophia has a "Public Speaking" class, but it is not listed as being transferable to COSC. Does anyone know why it would not be transferable? Maybe the classes are very different, or maybe Sophia just needs to update their website?

Yes it's ACE recommended for credit and it'll work for COSC, I recommend taking it through them too since it's FREE.

According to someone on another forum they asked COSC about the Public Speaking on Sophia and was told it would not fulfill the requirement.

Is there a course on Sophia that satisfies the COSC requirement for "Non US History/Culture" ?
I still have not received my official evaluation from COSC, but using the "quick" one they put on their website, I see some classes are already met. It looks like I can take all the remaining classes at Sophia.
I think for the AS degree, I need a "science", but not a "lab science". For a BS degree, I think I need the "lab science". Is that correct?
If I don't need a lab for an AS degree, and I can take "Non US History/Culture" at Sophia, then I should be able to finish the basics at Sophia.

Written Communication (Required)

Social/Behavioral Science (Required) Met !!

The Religions course should satisfy the Non US History/Culture. A course can satisfy more than 1 GE requirement at COSC.
