CLEP Macroeconomics

Any one who has taken Macroeconomics, will you please tell me if studying IC flash cards is enough to pass the test. I don’t have any knowledge in economics courses but need to pass it within 10 days.

I JUST took the Macroeconomics CLEP test this morning, and there were a few areas that were covered quite a bit that I wasn't expecting. Make sure to study up on MONETARISTS and DISCRETIONARY FISCAL POLICY. Of course, I don't know how many different CLEP exams there and the one you get may not have the same focus, but it doesn't hurt to be prepared just in case.

Also, be sure to really understand what will move the Aggregate Supply and Aggregate Demand curves left and right. There were a lot of questions related to that.

Make sure you know what the govt. will do to help when there is a recession or inflation (inflation: they increase taxes & decrease spending; recession: they decrease taxes and increase spending).

And the practice tests through Petersons.com are DEFINITELY worth the time and money - I would strongly suggest you utilize that resource, along with InstantCert.

Okay...I updated my signature AND have added another test to take...

Next test is MICROeconomics, which from what I've been hearing is even harder than MACROeconomics. Probably won't get to that one until early July...too much work to do in my online Philosophy class (ugh!) and then I'm on vacation!

Thank you for your feed back, can you tell me what did you use to prepare for test. How abut IC, how close was it to test, I have heard Peterson is harder than real test is this true?

An "A", huh? Very cool!! Made all that studying worth it...

Yes, the Peterson's test is definitely harder than the real test, but it was GREAT preparation, so I would still use it.

Since I knew absolutely NOTHING about Macroecon, I initially watched the Standard Deviant's Macroeconomics video which gave me a good overview (I also took notes while I watched it, which proved very helpful also). I would be happy to send you the video if you'd like, as long as you promise to "pay it forward" and offer it to someone else down the line.

After watching the video, I studied with InstantCert, and also studied using SparkCharts, which I can e-mail to you if you'd like (I received it from another InstantCert member). Also, if you go into http://www.sparknotes.com/economics, they have good info there as well.

To answer your question, it's not that InstantCert is "close to the test", but it gives you a lot of good info that you need to know for the test. Like Steve has posted here before, you want to study the material that is listed below the question (once you've hit enter). Focus on that material especially to learn about the subject you're testing on.

And give yourself plenty of time to absorb it all; I found that reviewing it and reviewing it really helped, until I "had it" and felt confident enough to take the test.

Really? For Macroeconomics their site lists 61 and up as being an A... Which is it? Has the requirement changed?
