CIS Classes for the degree
#1
So you need 18 hours in the AOS. My question is this, if you are missing the 1 credit if you do the TEEX courses where do you make them up as below is my plan.

SL - C++ - 4 hrs
CSU Global - System Analysis - 3 hrs
DSST - MIS - 3 hrs
TECP - Network Technology - 3 hrs
TEEX - Cybersecurity - 2 hrs
CLEP - Computer Applications - 3 hrs

18 hrs

I'm taking they will not put this extra hour needed in electives, so what gives? Do you have to take another course or DSST or CSU test. What are the options. Again, I apologize because I feel this has probably been covered, but since I read one CSU Global course now isn't accepted I figured I would ask again. I've read the SL course is 4 hours, so will that make up for the missing credit? But, I've also read that 12 of the hours have to be upper level, so this option is perplexing to me.

Haha, I thought I was the only one multi-tasking while listening to a PF Webinar. But you're also doing the same thing! Good Job!
The TEEX courses are 2 credits each, if you take all 3, they may allow that to be the 6 credits to reach 18. Verify by emailing them.
The only other option is to take a CSU Global CBE as you're already doing, ask to see if their Cloud Data will work for it still.

If you look at the CSU Global thread I updated recently, they have more IT tests. I was granted an exception for the TEEX course (I'm not even sure if it is evaluated as cybersecurity anymore), but there is also the DSST for Cybersecurity. I think only one TEEX course is UL.

The webinars are worse than the military training I just had today that was death by PowerPoint. I thought I had read that one of the CSU courses was no longer accepted and was thinking it was Clould and Big Data as someone had the class denied for UL.

Thanks Sanatone. I'm trying to debate if they are even worth doing, however they would probably not hurt to have credits. Worst case scenario I could add them to the extra 1 credit that I'm going to need in the Elective area for Business as I'm missing that 1 cr from Business Law.

Academic advising told me back in March that the TEEX classes no longer count as CIS area of study credit, even the CIS-244 one, weirdly. When I transferred them in, two of them were used as free electives and the last is unused yet I still have an open spot for an UL CIS course. The DSST Cybersecurity course, which counts as CIS-344, should fulfill the UL CIS requirement.

Yes, the DSST Cybersecurity (CIS-344) should work for you. It doesn't duplicate the TEEX course either (that's now CIS-244).

I'll just use those as my electives then, that's alright with me. As long as I get my free credits, i'm good...
