Hi to all I have a question im trying to get a bachelors degree i start studying with pennfoster but after i start researching i notice that most of the Computer Information System courses they offer are already expired at ACE so is not worth to spend money and time on courses that i will have to do again by other institution.
I need an opinion i found this at Strayer University CHALLENGE EXAMS most of the courses for CIS they offers it as challenge for 20$. if someone has experience on this please advice.
You have to take be enrolled and take at least one course with Strayer to be eligible for the challenge exams. It will run you almost $1500 for a course.

This is one of those interesting possibilities. Could a person buy one course for $1500 and then take all of the challenge exams in one semester and earn a boatload of credits? I think that the person who does this would enter the degreeforum Hall of Fame.
BTW, this kind of thing exists elsewhere. For example, the community college that I once attended offers divisional exams for credit.
It’s been my experience that a school is not required to accept another school’s challenge exam. They may require you to take their challenge exam, costing you more time and money. I don’t think they are meant to be transferable between institutions.
Best to check with the school you plan on transferring to about whether they will accept a certain school’s challenge exams, so you don’t waste your time.
COMPLETED: Southeast Tourism Society - TMP (02/2020) Pierpont Community and Technical College - AAS BOG, AOE: English (12/2018) FEMA - PDS Certificate (04/30/2014) GED (11/16/2004)
This might be a really good option if your company had tuition reimbursement, and would pay the $1500 for a single course, and then you could pay $20 each for multiple exams. But, only if you could transfer them to another school (like one of the Big 3 or WGU). If you could get enough exams completed, it might even be worth it for someone to pay for the course themselves.
Examples:
$1500 for a course + $100 for 5 exams = $1600/18cr = $88/cr
$1500 for a course + $160 for 8 exams = $1660/27cr = $61/cr

Do we have any idea how these reflect on a Strayer transcript?

I am enrolled at Strayer, and I took a challenge exam this summer for Management Information Systems. I just checked my degree progress report and it shows as a Transfer credit. I also took the CLEP History Post 1865 and it also shows as a Transfer credit. My DSST exam doesn't show yet.
I did get the text for the class through Amazon and found it really helpful to pass the test.
Hrm, I would hope it doesn’t show as transfer credit on an official transcript or it won’t be transferable

I've attached a snip of my unofficial transcript showing the Challenge exam, the CLEP, and the DSST. The DSST isn't showing in all places yet, I need to check on that!
