Hi forum, im back with another question. So I took my 421 capstone midterm a few days ago and I did pretty bad. My total score was 68 out of possible 100. However, up to this point I score 100's on all study cases and 95's on all discussions. If I continue to score above 90 on the remaining assignments (discussions, study cases and final project), I should be OK, right. What I'm trying find out is that scoring under 70 points on the midterm should not equate to an automatic course failure. Please share your input. BTW, the midterm carries a weight of 25% of the course. My 68 points equated to 17%

How did the test compare to the study guide that you were provided? Could all of the info for the test be found in the powerpoint?

The study would have been very helpful, but I blew it. I should have focused on thd study guide a bit more. So read the study guide, research the concepts, practice talking or writing about each topic from the study guide and u should be OK.... I was so focused on the study cases and discussion forums that I neglected preparing more for the midterm.

Well, I've read posts from like 2016-2018, were people have been in a similar situation to you and still have gotten B's in the class. Or maybe even better. If you search midterm in the search bar you should be able to find the ones I've read.

You can create a spreadsheet (I did) showing each section of the course, and weighting the different sections according to what the syllabus says they're worth.
But just off the top of my head, no, you're not failing the course.

Don't give up - put it out of your head you can't go back - move forward.
I did awful on my TESU Bus 421 Midterm (I mixed up two of 'the lists' on the exam; which are everything on the midterm; I had been doing very well right up to that point). I was convinced that was it, is was over - but since it was already paid for, I said I'm just going to do the best I can I have nothing to lose. Needless to say I passed (I had concern right up to the end), and actually did better overall than I expected was possible.

My worries are that I did not score at least 70 out of 100. But over all for the course km carrying upper 80s of low 90s.

There's no need to look at the past as you should just focus on what is remaining for the course - I would just look past that midterm and work harder/smarter on the final project at this point. You should still be able to get a good mark if you do well on the final project. If you put a bit more effort/strategy/time into the project, it will totally offset the 68 you got for the midterm.

Thanks for your words of encouragement. I have been getting almost perfect scores on all my assignments (except the midterm) and I think I will work even harder now that I seen my midterm score. I think I'm in a good place, the weighted percentage for thd midterm is 25% of the entire course. With my 68 score, I got 17% out of 25%. So I think I'll be fine as long as I keep getting good marks on my remaining study cases and final project.
