Quote:The myEdison Student Portal Is Going Offline July 10 for Maintenance
The University is taking the myEdison Student Portal and Online Student Services (OSS) offline for maintenance on Saturday, July 10, from 6 a.m. to noon (ET).
During this maintenance window, students will not have access to their courses in the Moodle Learning Management System, G Suite for Education or OSS. If the maintenance window extends beyond the time frame described, students will be notified via email. We appreciate your patience while we perform these upgrades.

Ouch. 6 hours on a Saturday? That's rough.

Yeah, for some students, that's going to put them an entire week behind in classes. If you only have Saturdays to study and TESU takes away that Saturday, ouch.

My husband goes through this with PUG. It's not every weekend but it's too often. They do maintenance on Sundays 1-3. WHY? It screws him up every time. He can't access classes or the library so he can't even write a paper or read his books. Makes no sense.
My school had maintenance from midnight until 4am yesterday. The term started Monday so I was like why on earth do you wait until the second day of class? Why not do it before? I truly wonder who schedules these things and if they've ever been on the end affected. It's like there's a major miscommunication.

For most online colleges with an only online platform, yeah, it's going to have a large affect on student studies. However, TESU isn't completely online as for most courses, if not all, you have an assigned textbook you need to complete the course. Use that downtime to do some other related course work or review what is needed within the text, etc.
Most online info that is affected is the option to submit your discussions or assignments, etc. You can actually just get PDF screenshots of whatever you need within the course week requirements and work on those in an online format. Then just copy/paste what you have into the discussions or post your assignment when you've done them, etc.
TLDR: In short, prepare for the downtime and get your assignments/discussions requirements documented in a pdf by doing a screenshot, etc, complete the work in a "downtime format" and copy/paste or whatever you need when the system gets back up. Read your assigned text, don't let the downtime dictate what you do.
