On that techspot review, they are reviewing a 2GB 650Ti, so its faster but not a fair comparison to the 1GB 560Ti.
And I wouldn't worry about the 128bit memory bus, as it can communicate at 86.4 GB/s, which is much slower than the 560Ti at 128.3 GB/s.
However that is irrelevant, because the i5 3570k can only process memory at 25.6 GB/s, so the i5 will be your limitation not either video card.
And specs wise the 650Ti's texture fill rate of 59.2 billion/s vs 560Ti's 52.5 billion/s, it doesn't tell the whole story, but can be important.
Some of this comes from the increase in cores, each core can process a pixel at a time, so with 768 vs 384 it can process 2x pixels each cycle.
I don't think it will blow away a 560Ti, but even it turns out equal, but running at almost 1/2 the power consumption its a good deal.
Sorry ryoder, I don't see the whole mac vs pc thing being an argument any more. Because macs are just intel machines like most others, and I have been able upgrade cpu's, memory and video cards like anything else in my pro, just like standard pc's for a long time.
Even my mac book pro laptop has something most people cant comprehend... An external PCI box attached through my express card 34 slot.
Village Instruments : ViExpress Box
When I get my new mbp 15 retina next week I will be ordering the new thunderbolt external pci version
We all have our choices on OS, and that can be an argument, but not the hardware.
Almost every CIO I consult with, is offering an alternative to windows in their enterprises.
My last company did, my new company does, and almost the entire fortune 100 does. So lets not start an irrelevant war.

Went through a similar process a few months back, including putting a 560 ti 448 in. With the current Nvidia numbering scheme (XY0) a 6Y0 card, as you've pointed out, will be a 'generation' on from a 5Y0 card. In general, an X60 card will be faster than an X50 card. The 560 448 is a particularly nice card (solidly outperforming the 'normal' 560). Newer gen usually means more efficient use of power but there's no other benefit as it's still a DX11 card.
Tom's hardware hasn't updated their graphic card charts in a while but you can't really go wrong with the 560 448 and any old google of "560 448 vs 650" will throw up enough results to keep you happy. The 560 448 still outperforms and is/was the high end of the 560 range (560, 560 ti, 560 ti 448).
Invested in a Corsair TX650 PSU to keep it all happy. Still running XP here but not far off the position where running win98lite with the OSR2.1 win95 shell just stops becoming viable

Great info in this thread, and yeah, I think I actually could install Mac OS X on my i5-based machine, albeit with a lot of hacked/heavily-modified device drivers, from what I've gleaned from the tech-head buzz around the internet... So the Mac/PC thing is a totally different argument than it was back when Macs used proprietary 68x and G-series Motorola processors with the wonderful, crash-prone OS Classic. The good ol' days
I figured the beefed-up version of the 560 series would outpace even the Super Super-Clocked 650 series, as it's just a somewhat lower class of chipset even if it's a newer generation.
I'm just looking to get a good, strong, relatively affordable, power-efficient GPU that can push good graphics at modern resolutions; I think the SSC 650 Ti will fit the bill nicely. Rest-assured, it will make me happy; I'm a guy used to playing Crysis and other extremely intensive games on a 3.06GHz Core2 Extreme X9100 (Penryn) with 45nm technology and a GeForce GTX 260M (mobile/laptop version) with 65nm tech and GDDR3 VRAM, on a 1366x768 15" screen. Jumping four generations ahead to a quad-core 22nm Core i5 3.8GHz Ivy Bridge paired with a GeForce 650 Ti with superclocked GDDR5 VRAM on a 1080p monitor is going to warp my mind. I've literally not even seen technology this new in person yet. I'm going to be like a kid in a candy store on Christmas morning, all drooling and bug-eyed. Can't... Wait... ,,,O.O,,,
Oh, I upgraded the keyboard this week to a DeathAdder blue LED-backlit keyboard. Looks snazzy. Waiting on the mouse.

OK, just as a final post to sum up this thread, I did finish building the thing and finally got around to taking a picture of it.
I went with the GeForce 650 TI SSC Kepler 1GB; it plays everything I throw at it @ 1080p, above 45fps minimum. Great card, thanks a lot for suggesting it hmuchmo1! And thanks to everyone else for the various techie tidbits as well.
So this is it... Anyone recognize the screensaver?

I built my first computer a year ago. I used Microcenter for my build. Newegg gave me my PSU and my GPU (at the time a Geforce 430 FERMI) and case. It was a goal I had set out, and finished, and now I want to build MORE.
On that note... I WANT THAT CASE!

Haha yeah it is a true addiction, just like upgrading your car or your house; once you start, you just keep going. Funny enough, that case is super-old! I bought it ten years ago to put some old used parts in, like 256MB PC133 RAM, a 1GHz Athlon (single core) processor, 13GB HD, and GeForce 4000MX with a whopping 32MB of video memory. Then it sat in my parents' attic for about 7 years after I joined the military, and finally, they made me either ship it or throw it away when they cleaned their attic and found it. The old parts even still worked! Well, that is, until I hooked up a wire backwards and turn the power on, frying everything lol.
I believe the case is a RAIDMAX Scorio 868w. Amazingly they still make/sell it, and now besides black, it's also available in silver frost, neon green, lemon yellow, and electric blue.

I am a fan of the blue one.
My Pc cost me a total of $350.
I just used a TB HDD I had, and DVD DL Burner I had. I have a brick and mortar Microcenter near me, so I was able to walk in and buy my CPU which is an AMD Phenom II x4 965 Black edition, and get a mobo for free. It is a gigibyte, I forget which model but it is great. I run every came at full potential and never have a problem. Mostly just play Diablo III on it now, but I have tested it plenty.
Also, what is that keyboard? I am using an old dell one and need to upgrade bad.
My next goal was to maybe build a Linux box and use a KVM switch I have.
